Funeral services for Lester M. Arnold, 40, who died in University hospitals, Madison, Oct. 9, following major surgery, were held at 2 p.m. Monday in Milton Junction Methodist church. His pastor, the Rev. William Hosking of the Kewaunee Congregational church, officiated and was assisted by the Rev. C. V. Dawson of the local Methodist church. Ivan Fitz Randolph sang two selections with Miss Beverly Schultz at the organ.
Burial was in Milton Lawns Memorial park where a group from the Kewaunee Masonic lodge gave the committal service. Pallbearers were Joseph Novak, Maurice Hovland, Mansel Slack, Earle Shane, Harvey Rudie and Dr. Gordon Dishmaker, all Kewaunee Mason. Nine other Masons joined the local Masons to attend in a body.
Among those from out of town attending the services were 50 friends from Kewaunee and Algoma, also relatives from Lavalle and Milwaukee.
The son of Charles and Clara Richardson Arnold, Lester was born Mar. 17, 1914, near Milton Junction. A graduate of Milton Union high school and Whitewater State College, he had taught in high schools at Pardeeville and Luxemburg before going to Kewaunee. For the past 10 years he had taught in the high school there and was also assistant basketball and football coach. He was a past master of the Kewaunee Masonic lodge and a member of the Congregational church there, and was active in Boy Scout and Cub Scout work.
He is survived by his wife, the former Della Courtney of Milton Junction to whom he was married Aug. 1, 1936; two sons, Glenn and Stephen; his parents; three brothers, Earle, Robert and Ralph Arnold, all of Milton Junction; and a sister, Mrs. A. Peter Ganzer, Fort Atkinson.

MILTON - Della R. (Courtney) Arnold, age 88, died Thurs., July 26, 2001, at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington, IL. She was born on May 26, 1913. She was married to the late Lester Arnold on Aug. 1, 1936. Della was a teacher at the Kewaunee and Janesville elementary schools, and a librarian in the Janesville schools until her retirement. Della was a long time resident of Milton, and was living at the Plum Grove Nursing Home, Palatine, IL, at the time of her death.
Della is survived by two sons, Glenn (Karen), and Steve; a brother, Edward; and a sister, Mary Davidson; a grandson, Eric; a granddaughter, Rachel; also many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Mon., July 30, 2001, at the Albrecht Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Milton Lawns Memorial Park on Monday.
