Clifford Goehl, 78, Rt. 1, Janesville, died Saturday in Mercy Hospital. He had been ill several months.
He was born Oct. 16, 1895, at Watertown, and was married to Alta M. Jones June 10, 1929, in Janesville. The couple farmed near Evansville until 1941 when they moved to their present farm in LaPrairie Township. He was a member of Emerald Grove Congregational Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert H., at home; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Wanninger, Milwaukee; three grandchildren; a brother, Carl Lounsbury, Janesville; a sister, Mrs. William Santore, Uniontown, Pa.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the church, with burial in Emerald Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Overton Funeral Home.

JANESVILLE - Alta Mae Goehl, age 86, of Rt. 1, Milton-Shopiere Rd., died Wed., June 19, 1991, at Meadow Park Nursing Home, Clinton. She was born on June 13, 1905, in LaPrairie Township, the daughter of Harry and Stella (Lloyd) Jones. She graduated from Janesville High School. She married Clifford Goehl on June 10, 1929; he passed away in April, 1974. They had farmed near Evansville from 1929-1941 before moving to LaPrairie Township where they farmed for many years. Mrs. Goehl was a member of Emerald Grove U.C.C. Congregational Church and of the Faithful Followers of the Church. She was also formerly a 4-H leader.
She is survived by a son, Robert H. Goehl of Rt. 1, Janesville; a daughter, Evelyn M. (Charles) Wanninger of Milwaukee, WI; 3 grandchildren: Gail (James) McLaughlin, David (Patricia) Wanninger and John (Susan) Wanninger; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Irene Pratt and Jeanette Jones, both of Whitewater, WI. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., June 22, at 1:00 p.m. at the Emerald Grove U.C.C. Congregational Church, Rev. Herbert Saunders and Rev. Talmage Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Emerald Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Schneider Funeral Home, Janesville. Memorials may be given to Emerald Grove Congregational Church.
