EDGERTON - LeRoy E. Babcock, 79, formerly of Indian Ford, Rte. 2, Edgerton, and a lifelong area resident, died this morning in Rock Haven after an illness.
Born in Albion Township May 30, 1886, the son of Franklin and Josephine Howard Babcock, he married Florence Eunice Wille in Rockford July 24, 1904. Mrs. Babcock died July 7, 1946.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mmes. Harold Wyss, Herbert Bruce and Karl Thom, all of Janesville, Mmes. Melvin Bratland, Franklin Schmeling and Marvin Kopke, all of Edgerton, and Mrs. Richard Simmons, Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Willard, of Janesville; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Albert Hensel, and a brother, Herbert Babcock, both of Janesville.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Edgerton Methodist Church, the Rev. Gerald A. Krause officiating, with burial in Fassett Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ellingson Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday and at the church from 1:15 p.m. until time of service Monday.

Edgerton - Mrs. Florence E. Babcock, 57, Edgerton route 4, lifelong Rock county resident, died in a Madison hospital at 4 a.m. Sunday.
Formerly Florence Wille, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Wille, she was born Nov. 14, 1888, in Rock county and was married to LeRoy Babcock July 25, 1907, in Rockford.
Surviving are her husband; eight daughters, Mmes. Harold Wyss, Herbert Bruce, Melvin Bratland, Richard Simmons, Franklin Schmeling, the Misses Hazel, Kay and Jeanne Babcock, all of this vicinity; a son, Willard Babcock, who lives in this community; nine grandchildren; five brothers, and two sisters. A daughter died March 10, 1936.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Ruben Tellefson funeral home and at 2 o'clock in Edgerton Methodist church with the Rev. Douglas Anderson officiating assisted by the Rev. E. M. Oliver, Watertown, former pastor of the church. Burial will be in Fassett cemetery.
