Categories: 1840's Settlers, Albion SDB Church Constituent Member - 1843, The Sabbath Recorder Obituary
"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 26, No 51, p 203, Dec. 15, 1870.
In Albion, Dane Co., Wis., Nov. 26th, 1870, of typhoid fever, Mrs. Julia A. Head, wife of S. C. Head, Esq., and daughter of the late Adin Burdick, aged about 54 years. Sister Head was born in Brookfield, N. Y., where she in early life sought and found Jesus, and witnessed a good profession of her faith in the ordinance of baptism, uniting with the 3d Seventh-day Baptist Church of that town. She having gone west with her family, who were among the pioneer settlers of the town of Albion, was one of the number constituting the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Albion at the time of its organization of which she remained a worthy member until released by death, to take her place in the triumphant division of the family of Jesus. By this providence, her husband has been bereft of a true wife, an invalid son who had been constantly borne upon a mother's heart, and a youthful daughter of an affectionate mother, and a large circle of kindred and friends of a faithful friend. May God sanctify this bereavement to those covered by this tidal wave of sorrow, and give them grace to say, "Thy will, O God, be done." J. C.

Note: burial was in Albion Evergreen Cemetery

Categories: 1840's Settlers, Albion SDB Church Constituent Member - 1843, Rev. James C. Rogers Officiating, The Sabbath Recorder Obituary
"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 46, No 21, p 336, May 22, 1890.
In Albion, Wis., May 1, 1890, of heart disease, Mr. Samuel C. Head, aged 73 years, 5 months and 9 days.
The subject of this notice was born in Almond, Allegany Co., N. Y., Nov. 22, 1816. He was baptized by Eld. Richard Hull, during the winter following the dedication of the 2d Church of Alfred. He was always kind to his mother and sisters and tried to live a Christian life. He came to Albion in 1841 nearly 50 years ago, and became a constituent member of this church, and for many years filled his place in the church. His health has been poor for a number of years; his nervous system being greatly affected. For some little time his heart has been affected, which was finally the cause of his death. Thus another of our number has gone to be numbered with the "pale sheeted nations of the dead." Funeral sermon by Eld. James C. Rogers. W. H. E.

Note: Samuel is not listed in the transcription of the Evergreen Cemetery in Albion, but his wife, parents and some siblings are. So Samuel is probably buried there without a headstone.
