EDGERTON - Albert "Stan" Burdick, age 80, of 112 Blanchard St., died Wed., Sept., 1997, at the Memorial Community Hospital in Edgerton. He was born Dec. 22, 1916, in Edgerton, the son of Claude and Martha (Dallman) Burdick. Stan graduated from Edgerton High School in 1935. He served in the Army during World War II. His unit, the 9th Armor Division was one of the first to cross the Remagen Bridge. Stan was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. He was married to Wanda Zinn in 1949, in Edgerton. He worked for 45 years at the Nunn Bush Shoe Factory in Edgerton. He has lived in Edgerton his whole life and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Stan is survived by his wife, Wanda of Edgerton; 2 sons, John (Jane) of Monroe, and William of Edgerton; 3 brothers: Lawrence of Arlington, VA, Robert of Edgerton, and Alan (Ione) of Janesville; 3 grandchildren: Andrea, Adam, and Martha. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Norman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Fri., Sept. 19, 1997, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Roy Poltrock officiating. Burial will be in the Fassett Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Albrecht Funeral Home, Edgerton, is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Wanda E. Burdick, 90, of Edgerton, died late Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Edgerton Hospital and Health Services. Wanda was born in Cooksville, WI, on Feb. 23, 1918, to the late William and Anna (Moe) Zinn. She would meet Albert “Stan” Burdick and marry him on June 18, 1949, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Edgerton. Wanda worked as a stitcher at the Nunn Bush Shoe Factory in Edgerton. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was very active in the church. She was a member of the Martha Circle and the Church Choir, Milton Choral Union, and in her free time enjoyed crocheting, being with friends and family, listening to classical music, and watching birds and deer.
Wanda is survived by two sons, John (Jane) Burdick of Monroe, WI, and William (Diane) Burdick of Janesville, WI; three grandchildren: Andrea Palm (Tom Meadowcroft) of Madison, WI, Adam (Amy) Burdick of Monroe, and Martha (David) Maza of Madison; one great-grandchild, Anna Olson; a special niece, Judy Scharfenberg; and several other nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stan; one brother; Fred Zinn; and five sisters: Margaret Zinn, Ellen Haakenson, Barbara Sanger, Esther Roenneburg, and Judy Cox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Karla Brekke officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Fassett Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday night, Feb. 5, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Edgerton.
