Janesville - Margery Alice Howard, 82, of Janesville, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005, at Our House Assisted Living. She was born in Janesville on Aug. 22, 1923, the daughter of Harlowe and Hilda (Ambrose) Clarke. She graduated from Janesville High School and served in the U. S. Navy for over two years. Margery married Glenn F. Howard on March 30, 1945. She resided most of her life in Janesville and LaPrairie Township. Margery loved to read, walk and bike, and was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Margery Howard is survived by her husband, Glenn; 2 children, Susan Howard of Janesville and Glenn (Marit) Howard of Norway; 3 grandchildren: Nikolai, Thea and Rebekka of Norway; 2 sisters, Hilda (Don) Kramer of Santa Ana, CA, and Margaret (Lloyd) Wincapaw of Westville, OK; and a brother, Duane (Jan) Clarke of Friendship, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Anna Schiefelbein, Lucille Clarke and Elaine Starks; and 2 brothers, Paul Clarke and Harlowe Clarke.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Milton Ave., Janesville, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Milton Lawns Chapel. Rev. James Melvin will officiate. Entombment will follow in Milton Lawns Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville.

Glen Frederick Howard, 87, of Janesville, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 29, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. He was born in Janesville on Aug. 8, 1920, son of Frank and Florence (Bancroft) Howard. He was the middle child of five and grew up on a farm in Harmony Township. He graduated from Janesville High School. Glen married Margery Alice Clarke on March 30, 1945. He retired from General Motors in 1982 after 27 years of service. He was a very kind and gracious man and a faithful member of First Lutheran Church. Glen was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Glen Howard is survived by his 2 children, Susan Howard of Kingman, Arizona, and Glen (Marit) Howard of Oslo, Norway; 3 grandchildren: Nikolai, Thea and Rebekka, all of Oslo, Norway; a sister, Gladys Wicklund of Mesa, Arizona; and a brother, Charles (Ila) Howard of Janesville. Glen has joined Margery where she has been resting in eternal peace since November of 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jean Schwengels; and his brother, Paul Howard.
Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Milton Avenue, Janesville, with funeral services there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. George Bauman is officiating. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church. Assisting the family is Henke-Clarson Funeral Home (608-741-1713).
