JANESVILLE - Madeline Irene Wyss, age 87, of 908 Thomas St. died Friday evening at Premiere Care in Beloit. She was the eldest child of Florence (Wille) and LeRoy Babcock, born on Sept. 30, 1908 in Indianford, WI. She attended grade school and graduated from Edgerton High School. On April 27, 1929 she and Harold C. Wyss were married. He passed away on Nov. 5, 1967. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church for many years, serving as a Sunday School teacher, a volunteer at the noon Senior Citizens meal and a member of the Ruth Circle. Prior to early retirement to care for grandchildren, she was employed by Bostwick Dept. Store, Parker Pen and Gibbs Manufacturing.
Madeline is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Robert) Gray of Janesville; grandchildren: Guy (Janet) Gray of Mesa, AZ, Paul Wyss of Juneau, WI, Pamela (John) Veith of Chilton, WI, Annette (Dale) Gackstatter, Carolyn Hiller, Diane (Steven) Cawkins, Michael (Kay) Gray all of Janesville; great-grandchildren; Angela (Stephen) Karpi, Windy (David) Kadlec, Kathryn and David Gackstatter, Celeste and Terry Hiller, Rachel Bobzien, Matthew and Nicole, Cawkins, and Steven and Christopher Veith; 5 sisters: Leona Bruce, Marian Simmons, Vera Schmelling, Hazel Kopke, and Jean Thom; a brother, Willard, and many caring nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold C. Wyss and by her son, Harold L. "Bud" Wyss, 2 sisters, Violet Morrison and Florence Bratland.
Funeral services will be held Tues., May 14, 1996 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call Monday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Schneider Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church.

  Harold C. Wyss, 60, of 908 Thomas St., Fisher Body employee 39 years, died yesterday morning in Mercy Hospital after a heart attack Saturday afternoon.
  A maintenance department employee, he began working at the Fisher plant in 1928.   Born in Winneconne Sept. 21, 1907, he married Madeline I. Babcock in Rockford April 27, 1929.   He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
  Surviving are his wife; one son, Harold L., Juneau; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Gray, Janesville; six grandchildren; five brothers, Albert, Walter, Carl and Leonard, all of Janesville, and Werner, Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Koepke, Neenah, Mrs. Rose Morelli, Lake Worth, Fla., and Mrs. Lawrence Kinservik, Janesville.
  Services will be at 1:30 Wednesday in the Overton Funeral Home.   Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.   Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow night from 7 to 9.
