Mrs. A. E. Wilcox, 85, a resident of Rock county since childhood, died at 6 p.m., Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Cannon, 116 Oakland avenue, after an illness of seven weeks.
Lavanjah Akin was born in Cayuga, N. Y., Feb. 12, 1839 and came to this county with her parents when a child. They located in Harmony township.
She was married to Augustus Wilcox, Oct. 13, 1858. To them were born 10 children, of whom none survive. For 64 years she lived on the same farm in Harmony.
Those surviving are her husband and nine children, Morella Wilcox, Montana; R. E. Wilcox, La Prairie; Edward A. Wilcox, Lima; Frank Wilcox, Whitewater; Mrs. Will Brown, Mrs. Frank Richardson and Will Wilcox, Harmony; Mrs. James Clark and Mrs. C. E. Cannon, this city; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the home, with the Rev. F. F. Case of the Janesville Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Milton cemetery.

Farmer, sec. 15; P.O. Janesville; born in Roscoe, Winnebago Co., Ill, in 1838, son of N. W. and Olive Wilcox; came to Wisconsin in 1854 and settled on the farm he now owns of 110 acres. Married Miss Levanjah Aikin, of Harmony, in 1857; they have nine children-Morell A., Ella, Romaine E., Eva B. Clara C. Edward, Edith, Frank, and William. He has served as Treasurer and Director of School District No. 3 for the past eighteen years; was elected Supervisor of town of Harmony for 1878 and 1879; is a Republican, raises the usual stock and crops of his section.

A. E. Wilcox, one of the best known pioneers of this community, a resident of the town of Harmony since 1854, died at 1:30 Sunday morning, Nov. 1.
He was born May 4, 1838 in Roscoe, Ill., and came to Rock county March 1, 1854. Since that time he lived continuously in the town of Harmony.
Mr. Wilcox was united in marriage to Miss Levanjah Akin, Oct. 13, 1858. She died August 13, 1924.
Five sons and four daughters were born to this union: M. A. Wilcox, Montana, dying Nov 11, 1924. Those who survive are: R. E. Wilcox, Mrs. Ella Clark and Mrs. Eva Cannon, all of Janesville; E. A. Wilcox, Johnstown; S. E. Wilcox, Whitewater; W. F. Wilcox, Mrs. Clara Richardson and Mrs. Edith Brown, all of Harmony; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home, with the Rev. Anton Hatlstad officiating. Burial was in the Milton cemetery.
Mr. Wilcox was an industrious and capable farmer and was always active in township improvements. He was known for readiness in assisting his neighbors and lending a hand wherever he was needed.
