In Little Genesee, N. Y., Jan. 23d, 1863, Mrs. Mercy Maxson, wife of Joel Maxson, in the 58th year of her age. Sister M. deserved to be ranked among the excellent of the earth, and the 1st Seventh-day Baptist Church of Genesee has lost, in her, a most valued member. But she has taken her place among the spirits of the just made perfect. "It is the Lord; let him do as seemeth him good."

In Little Genesee, N. Y., on the 28th of February, 1865, Joel Maxson, in the 67th year of his age. In the death of Bro. M., the church has lost a valuable member, society an excellent citizen, and his family an affectionate parent. He was an old resident of the town of Genesee, and widely known.
