EVANSVILLE – William A. Erbs, age 74, an Evansville resident, died Sat., May 2, 1992, at Skaalen Sunset Home, Stoughton. He was born March 22, 1918, in Grand Mound, IA, the son of Henry and Elnora (Davis) Erbs. He was a graduate of Milton High School and served in the U. S. Coast Guard in World War II. Bill married Lola Hatlevig on Oct. 17, 1043. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Evansville, VFW, Evansville Country Club and a member of Evansville Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. He was a machine shop foreman at Baker Manufacturing, Co. for 42 years, retiring at age 65.
Survivors include his wife, Lola of Evansville; 2 sons, Steven of Janesville and Thomas (Debi) of Evansville; a daughter, Marcia (Bob) Kramer of Dubuque, IA,; a daughter-in-law, Mary Erbs of Oregon; 2 brothers, Vernon (Carol) and Ray (Dorothy), both of Janesville; 4 sisters: Vera Ballard of Milton, Gladys (Stephen) O’Connor of Janesville, Marvel Strobush of Milwaukee and Darlene (Les) Bagstad of Janesville’ a sister-in-law, Ann Erbs of Evansville; 5 grandchildren: Tim, Mark and Kurt Kramer, Mathew and Andrew Erbs; and a step-granddaughter, Tanya Worm. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis; a grandson, Jeffrey; and a brother, Francis.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tues., May 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Evansville, Rev. Jim Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. tonight at Ward Funeral Home, Evansville.

  EVANSVILLE - Lola A. Erbs, age 76, a lifelong Evansville resident, died Mon., March 23, 1998, at St. Mary Hospital, Madison, following a brief illness.   She was born June 8, 1921, in Evansville, the daughter of Sever and Anna (Thoms) Hatlevig.   She married William Erbs on Oct. 17, 1943 at St. John Lutheran Church in Evansville; he preceded her in death on May 2, 1992.   She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, St. John Ladies Aid, and the McKinley-Hatlevig American Legion, which was named in honor of her brother, Kenneth.
  Lola is survived by a daughter, Marcia (Bob) Kramer of Dubuque, IA; 2 sons, Steve of Janesville and Tom (Debi) of Evansville; a daughter-in-law, Mary Erbs of Oregon, WI; a brother, Wayne Hatlevig of Woodruff, WI; a sister, Helen Dudley of Janesville; 9 grandchildren: Tim, Mark and Kurt Kramer, Matt Erbs, Andrew, Adam, Ryan and Megan Erbs, and Tonya Worm.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a son, Dennis; a grandchild, Jeffrey; and a brother, Kenneth Hatlevig.
  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thurs., March 26, at St. John Lutheran Church, Evansville, with Rev. Robert Garbrecht, officiating.
