Adeline E. Sommervold, 91, formerly of Edgerton, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at Milton Senior Living, Milton. She was born on Dec. 31, 1917, in Edgerton, daughter of the late Melville and Bessie (Williams) Hallett. She was a graduate of Edgerton High School, Class of 1936. Adeline was married to Donald Bickle. She then married Donald "Skinny" Sommervold. She worked as a secretary at Prepo, and then for Family Finance for many years. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church and the Humane Society. She dearly loved all animals, especially her cats.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Bickle and Donald (Cherie) Bickle, both of Edgerton; four grandchildren: Debra (Dennis) Snell, Leslie (Joel) Schleusner, both of Edgerton, Steve (Erica) Bickle of Janesville, and Richard Bickle Jr. of Edgerton; seven great-grandchildren: Lisa (Pat) Linsley, Stephanie Snell, Jarrod Schleusner, Jacob Schleusner, Tyler Bickle, Jordyn Bickle, and Tanner Bickle; one great-great-grandson, Aidan Linsley; and two sisters, Genevieve Brandt of Janesville and Georgia "Corky" Peterson of Edgerton.
In addition to her parents, Adeline was preceded in death by her husbands; and one sister, Jessie Manthie.
A Private Family Service will be held at the Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Jenson Cemetery. The Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Edgerton, assisted the family.

Donald G. Bickle, Sr., 60, of 113 Broadway [Edgerton], died early today at Memorial Community Hospital where he was admitted after an apparent heart attack at his home.
Born in Edgerton March 5, 1918, he attended Edgerton High School and was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He had been employed at Ossit Furniture Co., Janesville, from 1950 to 1968; at Highway Trailer Industries, Inc., Edgerton, from 1969 to 1972, and a machinist at Dana Corpor. the past six years.
He was a well-known area musician and leader of the Don Bickle Dance Band for many years.
Mr. Bickle was married to Beverly Lund July 1, 1967, and was a member of Central Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Bickle, Edgerton; four sons and three daughters, Richard and Donald of Edgerton, Denise and Sandra at home, Darrell, David and Donna, all of Stoughton; four grandchildren; and a brother, Rodell, rural Edgerton.
The funeral is at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Central Lutheran Church, with burial in Jensen Cemetery.
Friends may call at Nygaard Funeral Home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and at the church Thursday from noon until time of service.

EDGERTON – Donald E. “Skinny” Sommervold, age 60, of 304 N. Main St., died Mon., Jan. 2, 1989, at the Edgerton Memorial Community Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Edgerton on March 11, 1928, the son of Martin and Johanna (Skar) Sommervold. He married Adeline Hallett Bickle on Oct. 3, 1953. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church. He had been employed at General Motors for 30 years, retiring Feb. 1, 1979. He had been a member of UAW Local 95. He had also bartended for many years in the Edgerton area.
His survivors include his wife, Adeline; 2 stepsons, Richard (Jackie) Bickle and Donald )Cherie) Bickle of Edgerton; 3 brothers: William “Doc” of Indialantic, FL, Harold “Peanuts” (Dorothy) and Norman “Tuna” (Beverly) of Edgerton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Clara Gorder and Mrs. Myrtle Johns both of Edgerton; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
Funeral services will be Thurs., Jan. 5, 1989 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Lutheran Church, Edgerton, Rev. Miles Renaas officiating. Burial will be in Jensen Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bruni-Nygaard Funeral Home, Edgerton, Wed. from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
