Gerhardt A. Gallman, 58, of 1120 Blaine, died at his home Saturday after an illness.
He was born Sept. 5, 1918, at Menomonie and was a World War II veteran, serving from 1940 to 1946. He was married to Margaret J. Odenwalder Sept. 26, 1948. She died in 1955. He was married to June S. Schroeder June 23, 1956.
Mr. Gallman was employed by the city of Janesville as a meter reader with the water department for 13 years, and as library custodian for seven years before his retirement in 1968. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son, John M., stationed at Fort Sheridan, Ill., a daughter, Mrs. Gary Davis, Janesville; two grandchildren; four stepchildren, Wayne Schroeder, Janesville, Billye Schroeder, Evansville, Mrs. Donald Schroeder, Amery, and Mrs. Howard Lillight, Nescopeck, Pa.; 17 stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Melvin Nightengale, Janesville, and Mrs. Kenneth Bostwick, Bellflower, Calif.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wolfgram Funeral Home, with burial in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and from noon until service time Tuesday.

Mrs. Gerhardt Gallman, 31, of 1120 Blaine Ave., life resident of Rock County, died Wednesday afternoon in Mercy Hospital following three weeks illness. The former Margaret Jane Odenwalder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theo J. Odenwalder, was born in Janesville, Jan. 11, 1924. She was graduated from Milton Union High School in 1941 and was married to Gerhardt Gallman Sept. 26, 1948. Mrs. Gallman was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband; a son, John, 4; a daughter, Carol Jean, 2; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theo J. Odenwalder, Milton Junction; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Leon Burdick, Milton Junction.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul’s Church, the Rev. Martin C. Droegemueller officiating. Burial will be in the Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Reining Funeral Home Friday evening and at the church from Saturday noon until funeral hour.
