Sandra M. Lukas, 63, a lifelong Milton area resident, passed away Wednesday evening, Oct. 28, 2009, at her home. She was born June 27, 1946, in Janesville, the daughter of the late Donald & Florence (Freeborn) Barker. She had worked as a Communications Specialist/Dispatcher for the City of Milton, and later for the Rock County 911 Communications Center until her retirement. Sandy was a very devoted and loving mother and grandmother, and could always be found at any of the events her grandkids were participating in! She very much enjoyed spending time with her many friends, and especially enjoyed her regular Coffee Clutch pals! Sandy loved to travel, and took many wonderful trips with her brother, Bob. She will be missed by her companion and pal, her dog, Dawson. She was a member of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (A.F.S.C.M.E.). Sandy was a longtime active member of the Milton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Christopher (Jenny) Lukas and Kevin (Jenny) Lukas, her brother, Robert Barker, all of Milton, her eight beloved grandchildren: Justin (Kristina Hansen), Kelsey, Jake, Karley, Colin, Annalee, Jaydalyn, and Allison, and by many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at the Milton United Methodist Church, 241 Northside Dr., with Rev. Patrick Schultz officiating. Burial will take place in the Milton Junction Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, 828 S. Janesville St., or on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church.

Spencer "Luke" L. Lukas, 62, of Edgerton, a longtime Milton resident, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at his home. He was born in Edgerton on Nov. 8, 1945, son of the late Glenn & Esther (Kjendle) Lukas. He lived most of his life in Milton, and was a graduate of Milton Union High School, Class of 1963. Spence worked for many years as a Deputy Sheriff for the Rock County Sheriff's Dept. He was a Firefighter with the Milton Fire Dept., and also was an Emergency Medical Technician with the Milton Rescue Squad. Along with his community service with the Fire Dept., he also served as a Police Officer for the City of Milton, and also with the Milton Township. He was a member of the Rock River Buck Skinners, and was a very skilled and talented gun maker. He very much enjoyed assembling early 1800's era rifles. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was known for his woodworking talents. He was a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church, Milton.
Spence is survived by his two sons, Chris (Jenny) Lukas and Kevin (Jennifer Schultz) Lukas, both of Milton; his fiancée, Christine Braskamp of Janesville; his brother, Greg (Diane) Lukas, of Verona, WI; his seven grandchildren: Justin, Kelsey, Jake, Karley, Colin, Annalee, and Jaydalyn; his three stepbrothers: Jim (Joanie) Wilcox Jr., Sam (Sharon ) Wilcox, and John Wilcox; his niece, Angie (Freddy) Vincenti; and other nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Wilcox, Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Central Lutheran Church, 100 W. Rollin St., Edgerton, with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in Milton Junction Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, 828 S. Janesville St., or on Thursday morning from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Church. Memorials in Spence's name may be made to the Milton Area Emergency Services Association.
