In Alfred, N. Y., Sept. 2d, of dyspepsia, Mr. Elihu Babcock, in the 53d year of his age. He died in full faith that there was a seat prepared for him at the right hand of God. He has left a companion in feeble health, and a large number of children, to mourn his loss.

In Alfred, N. Y., July 21, 1862, of apoplexy, Wid. Celia Babcock, aged 64 years, 11 months, and 4 days. Sister Babcock had long been an exemplary Christian, and was a member of the 2d Alfred Church till taken by the hand of death. She leaves a large circle of friends to mourn her loss. N. W.
