In Genesee, N. Y., March 21st, 1877, John Edwards, in the 76th year of his age.   The deceased was one of the earliest settlers of the town, having emigrated from Rhode Island some forty-eight years ago.   He was highly esteemed by all who knew him, was a man of strict integrity, a consistent and influential member of the Seventh-day Baptist church, a kind-hearted neighbor, a patriotic citizen; and after filling the measure of his days - many of which were attended with great bodily suffering - he died, hoping for eternal life through Jesus Christ.
