In Alfred Centre, N. Y., Jan. 18, 1893, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. G. Allen, Mrs. Olive Burdick Maxson, in her 87th year.
Mrs. Maxson was born in Petersburg, N. Y., Nov. 14, 1806, and removed to Alfred in 1826. In 1831 she was married to Wm. Maxson, and to them were born three sons and one daughter. Funeral services were held on Sabbath afternoon, conducted by the Rev. T. R. Williams, assisted by the Revs. L. A. Platts and L. C. Rogers. M.

In Alfred, N. Y., Oct. 6th, 1880, Wm. Maxson, in the 74th year of his age. He came to Alfred in the early period of its history. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Second Alfred Seventh-day Baptist Church, and a man of sterling Christian character. He died in the triumphs of the Christian faith, leaving the legacy of the rich and ripe example of a loving friend and faithful Christian. The funeral services were conducted by D. E. Maxson, pastor of the Second Church, assisted by N. V. Hull, of the First Church. D. E. M.
