This page is rarely revised because I always forget about it. It originally consisted of my source notes. I apologize for the incompleteness of many of the entries, and promise to do better next time. I only own a few of the books mentioned, and in most cases I made photocopies of the Sloan pages or simply took notes. In all cases, I abstracted the data and entered it in the Sloan Database. Thanks to several contributors, it's slowly growing. New additions are welcomed, if possible, provide name, author, date, publisher, and location of document. Texas Records, Birth Records - Summary: Info from the Texas Department of Health. Birth records 1950 - 1995, d.p.of b. of children but no parents listed. 1,987 Sloan, 198 Slone and 104 Sloane children listed.
Texas Records, Marriage Records: Info from the Texas Department of Health. Marriage records from 1966 to 1997. Usually gives age of bride & groom. 1,128 Sloan/Slone grooms and 1,071 Sloan/Slone brides.
Texas Records, Divorce Records: Info from the Texas Department of Health. Divorce records from 1968 to 1995. Usually gives age of individuals, date of marriage, date/place of divorce and # of children less than eighteen. 628 "male" Sloan/Slone divorces. Maiden name of females not given.
Texas Records, Death Records: Info from the Texas Department of Health. Death records from 1964 to 1998. Gives complete date and county of death. Great when used with the SocSec Death Index which gives date of birth and last known address. Contains 1,086 Sloan/Sloane/Slone deaths. SSDI goes up to Nov. 2000 but only and has 799 Sloan/Sloane/Slone Tx. deaths.
