Johann Römisch

Johann Römisch

The Römisch family does not appear to originate in Steuden. JOHANN RÖMISCH of Steuden appears in only one record there -- the burial of his widow GERTRAUTE on 1 Feb 1715. Their daughter Eva appears in two Steuden records -- the baptism on 26 Oct 1712 of an illegitimate child and the death of that child. The baptism is a very lengthy document -- over a page and a half long, and difficult to read. One can decipher the phrase "the son of the Pfarrer" and perhaps that is the reason for the attention paid to the event -- he was probably the father.

On Eva's marriage record in Groß Gräfendorf, she is called "daughter of the late Johann Römisch, former Einwohner of Steuden."

Known child of Johann Römisch and (probably) Gertraute ___:

1. EVA RÖMISCH, married in Groß Gräfendorf, 19 May 1716, GEORGE HAHN; perhaps married second, between 1724 and 1731, CHRISTOPH RÜKMAR of Groß Gräfendorf; if so, she died in Groß Gräfendorf 19 Oct 1731.
