In the Name of God Amen: The Last Will and Testament of me FFrances PROUSE of Ffordington in the County of Dorsett Widow being Aged & infirm in Body but of sound and perfect mind and memory (Thanks be given to Almighty God)

Ffirst Item: I give unto Abigail GENGE Widow my sister, the sume of Twenty pounds to be paid her in twelve months months after my decease

Item: I give unto my three Daughters by name Ann HAYN the now wife of John HAYN of Litton Cheyney in the County aforesaid Yeoman, Amey PITFIELD the now wife of Charles PITFIELD of Ffordington in the said County and Hannah HARDY the now wife of John HARDY of Charminster in the said County of Dorsett The sume of Ffifty five pounds of lawful British money which said Sume of Ffifty five pounds being instantly due and owing to me on Bond from the said John HAYN as by the said Bond will make appear

Item: I give unto John HARDY my Son-in-Law five shillings

All: Other my Goods Chattles and Personal Estate whatsoever I give the same unto my said three daughters above named whom I hereby make my sole Exectrixes and Residuary Legatees of this my said Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all fformer Wills and Testaments by me made

In Witness: whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this Twenty Ffith day of April in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty Three

Genealogical Notes:-

(1). Frances was the widow of John PROWSE [PROUSE] who was buried at Fordington on 14th Feb 1721/2. A transcription of his will can be accessed via this link.

(2): Comments on the spine of the Will are "Will PROUSE Frances (widow) of Fordington w.d. (Will Dated) 25th April 1733" It is stamped Dean of Sarum and at the foot of the spine " Found in improved Wills". As far as we can tell from the parish registers Frances PROUSE lived for another 5 years after she made the will being buried at Fordington 26th January 1738/9 at the age of 89.
