This is the Last Will & Testament of James POOK of Dorchester Gardener made and published this Twenty Seventh day of October 1740

Impremis: I give and devise unto my Broer [brother] William POOK one shilling and whereas I have settled the house wherein I now live on my Broer [brother n law] Thomas SWATRIDGE and his wife, I do devise that after their deaths that their daughter Sarah may enjoy the same during the remer [remainder] of my term therein

All the Rest: of my estate I give unto my sister Sarah the wife of the said Thomas SWATERIDGE and I do make her sole executrix of this my Will

Proved 5th May 1741 :- This Will of James POOK deceased was proved by the oath of Sarah the wife of Thomas SWATRIDGE and natural and lawful Sister of the said deceased and Sole Executrix above named, to whom administration of all and singular the goods chattels and Credits of the said deceased was granted (the same being under the value of twenty pounds) she being first sworn upon the Holy Evangelists to faithfully administer the same according to law. before us John Walker
