Daniel Bortree & wife to Mary Ann Foulkrod

This Indenture made the Twentieth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty six Between Daniel Bortree of Greene Township Pike County, Penn.and Francis Emily his wife of the first part and Mary Ann Foulkrod of the same place party of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Two Hundred Dollars lawful money of the United States of America unto him well and truly paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents does grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release and confirm unto the said party of the second part their heirs and assigns a certain lot or parcel of land situate in Greene Township Pike County Penn bounded as follows. Beginning at the common corner of lots 492, 493, 496, & 497. Toreys survey thence south 40 deg one hundred and thirty eight and a quarter rods thence north 50 deg west fifty one and a half rods to the centre of the township road leading from Ledgedale to Bortrees Mills thence along the centre of said road to the common line of lots 496 & 493 thence south 50 east fifty eight rods to place of beginning composing all that portion of lot No. 496 which lies southeast of above mentioned townhip road and containing fifty acres be the same more or less Excepting and reserving all the hemlock bark and timber and maple suitable for lumber on said lot Also the right of way across said lot which B.G. Mirfs in an indenture dated Dec 12, 1865 reserved to himself together with all and singular the Rights liberties priveleges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appurtaining and the reversion's and remainders unto issues and profits thereof; And all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of the said party of the first part in law equity or otherwise howsoever often and to the same and every part thereof To have and to hold the above described lot or parcel of land hereditamints and premeses hereby granted or mentioned and intended as to be with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said party of the second her heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part their heirs and assigns forever and the said Daniel Bortree for himself and his heirs executors and administrators does by these presents covenant grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part her heirs and assigns that he the said Daniel Bortree and his heirs all and singular the hereditaments and premises herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended as to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part their heirs and assigns against him the said Daniel Bortree and his heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever deferred in witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals. Dated the day and year first above written.

On the twentieth day of February A.D. 1866 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County of Wayne personally appeared the above named Daniel Bortree & Frances E. his wife and acknowledged the above indenture to be their act and deed and desired the same might be recorded as such and the said Frances E. being of full age and separate and apart from her said husband by me privately examined and the full contents of the above deed being by me first made known unto her did thereupon declare and say that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord sign seal and as her act deliver the above written indenture deed or conveyance without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband witnes my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid

M. A. Woodington to S. A. Faulkrod

This indenture made the Eleventh day of April eighteen hundred and seventy six between Mary A. Woodington (late Mary A. Faulkrod) of Greene Township Pike County state of Pennsylvania of the first part and Samuel A. Faukrod of the township county and state aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars, lawful money of the United States of America, unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, Have granted, bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released convey and confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all of the following described property, viz: All that certain Lot of land situate in the township of Greene County of Pike state of Pennsylvania Beginning in the centre of a brook thence South forty degrees West eighty perches to a corner then North fifty degrees West fifty one and a half perches to the centre of the township road leading from Ledgedale to Bortree Mills thence along the centre of said road to the center of the aforementioned brook or creek, thence along the center of said brook it devious ways and courses eighty perches to the place of Beginning containing Twenty Five Acres be the same more or less excepting however and reserving for the use of B.G. Morf all the hemlock bark and timber and maple suitable for lumber also the right of way for the purpose of removing the same. The foregoing is part of a lot of land conveyed to the said Mary A Faulkrod by Daniel Bortree and Francis E. his wife by an Indenture bearing February 20 A.D. 1865 Together with all and singular the said property improvements ways waters - water courses rights liberties privledges hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to and the reversions and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the estate rights - title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part in law equity or otherwise however of in and to the same and every part thereof, To have and to hold said described lot of land with the hereditaments and premesis hereby granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part heirs and assigns forever And Mary A Woodington the said parties of the first part for himself & heirs executors and administrators do by these presents covenant grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part and their heirs all and singular the hereditaments and premesis herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against them the said parties of the first part and their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the said parties of the first part have to these presents set their hands and seals. Dated the day and year first above written.

Woodington and acknowledged the above deed to be her act and deed and desired to have it recorded said Mary A. Woodington being of full age and by me examined separate and apart from her said husband and the contents of said deed being first made known to - declared - signed sealed and delivered said deed of own free will and accord without - coercion or compulsion of - said husband. Samuel Foulkrod & wife to Maria Butler

This Indenture made the twenty fifth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three between Samuel Foulkrod of the township of Green in the county of Pike and State of Pennsylvania and Hannah his wife, parties of the first part and Mariah Butler of the Village of Ledgedale in the County of Wayne and State of Pennsylvania party of the other part. Witnesuth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars lawful money of the United States of America unto them well and truly paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, sold, aliened enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said party of the second part her heirs and assigns A certain lot of land and situate in the aforesaid Township of Greene in Pike County, Pennsylvania bounded and described as follows viz: Beginning in the centre of the bridge over a small run or creek on line of lands of Richard Gilpin, thence by same in centre of a public road leading from Ledgedale to Boretrees mill north twenty four 24 degrees east thirty rods to a turn in the road, thence yet in the said road north fifty two and a half degrees East eight rods to a post corner in the center of the aforesaid public road, thence by lands yet of the first party south nineteen and a half degrees west thirty five and seven tenths rods to the middle of the aforesaid run or small creek and thence down the same the centre of the run to be the line eight rods to the beginning, Containing one and one eighth acre (180 perches) of land be the same more or less Excepting and reserving all the hemlock bark and timber and maple suitable for lumber for the use of B. G. Morss.

The above described lot of land is a part of that lot of land which by her deed made the 11th day of April A.D. 1876 which is recorded in the proper office in and for the said County of Pike in Deed Book No 34 page 365 Mary Ann Woodington conveyed to the said Samuel Foulkrod in full Together with all and singular ways, waters, water-courses, rights liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining, and the reversions and remaining and all that the estate _ight _____ _____ property and demand whatsoever of them the said party of the first part in law, equity or otherwise or however of in and to the same _____ _____ _____ _____ _____ rents, issues and profits thereof To have and to hold the said described lot of ground, hereditments and premises, hereby granted or mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part her heirs, and assigns to and for the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part her heirs and assigns forever. And the said first parties heirs executors and administrators do by these presents covenant, grant and agree to and with the said, second party her heirs and assigns that they the said parties of the first part their heirs all and singular the hereditaments and premises herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended so to be, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part her heirs and assigns against them the said parties of the first part their heirs and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will warrant and forever defend.  In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals. Dated the day and year first above written.

On the twenty fifth day of September Anna Domini 1883 before me a Justice of the Peace in and for Pike County personally appeared the above named Samuel Foulkrod and Hannah Foulkrod his wife and in due form of law acknowledged the above Indenture to be their and each of their act and deed, and desired the same might be recorded as such: and the said Hannah his wife being of full age and separate and apart from her said husband by me thereon privately Examined and the full contents of the above deed being by me first made known unto her did thereupon declare and say that she did voluntarily and of her own free will and accord sign, seal, and as her act and deed deliver the above written Indenture Deed or conveyance, without any coersion or compulsion of her said husband. Witness my hand and official seal the day and year aforesaid.
