Abram Foulkrod's Will

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
ABRAM FOULKROD

August 16th 1904

          In the name of God Amen, I, Abram Foulkrod of the Village of Bristow, County of Boyd, State of Nebraska, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory, blessed be God for the same, do make and publish my last will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say:

          First--I direct that my funeral charges and expenses of administering my estate and all my debts be paid out of my personal property. If that be insufficient I authorize my executor hereinafter named to sell so much of my real estate as may be necessary for that purpose and for the purpose of making payments of items herein further directed.

          Second--I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Louise Foulkrod her dower right as provided by law in my estate provided she remains with me faithful to my death. Otherwise I direct in case she does not remain faithful till my death, that she be paid Five hundred dollars ($500) from my estate.

          Third--I bequeath to my three daughters Mary Jane Weedhoff, Gurnee, Ill.; Sarah Cornelia Ostrom, Liberty, Penn.; Lydia Rebecca Seaton, Motley, Minn.

         Fourth--I give and bequeath to my daughter deceased, Ellen Mackey's child, Charles P. Mackey, of Duluth, Minnesota now editing a paper in Duluth, $100 as the share that would befall to his mother out of my estate.

         Fifth--I direct my administrator hereinafter named to contest the claim or outlawed note on which I am surety with one "Dill" should it ever come up.

         Sixth--I give and bequeath to the First Methodist Church of Bristow of which I am a member, the sum of Twenty dollars ($20) out of my estate.

         Seventh--I give and bequeath my only boy, Wesley H. Foulkrod, One hundred dollars ($100) and all balance that there is left from my estate after the foregoing items have been paid.

         Eighth--I appoint my friend J. K. Moore of Bristow, Nebraska, Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

         In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name this Sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Four.

         We whose names are hereunto subscribed do hereby certify, That Abram Foulkrod the testator subscribed his name to this instrument in our presence and in the presence of each of us, and declared at the same time in our presence and hearing that this instrument was his last will and testament and we at his request sign our names hereto in his presence as attesting witnesses.
