Notes

Robert E. Foulkrod, Sr., married Violet Greenwood (named for cemetery) Hamill.  Son, Robert E. Foulkrod, Jr., died just a few years ago, like 3-4.  Violet was the daughter of William Hamill who was the manager of Greenwood Cemetery and who came from Ireland.  Robert E. Foulkrod, Jr., attended Frankfort High School.  Both Roberts were insurance brokers, their office was located in Glenside.

When Robert E. Foulkrod, Jr. was about 18 he was put on the cemetery payroll,--he did odd jobs,--graduated school and sold insurance like his dad.  When his dad, Robert, Sr., died Robert, Jr. moved to Cheltenham.

Violet's father, William Hamill, must have married a NICHOLS since Mr. DeLong said 'Violet's father and his in-laws the NICHOLS are buried in Greenwood."  The Foulkrods are not buried there at Greenwood.

Greenwood Cemetery was established by the Knights of Pythias in 1869. The house where the office is, is called the Rush House [now Adams Ave. & Arrott, Philadelphia, PA 19124] built in 1750 and named after Benjamin Rush, the first doctor in America.  Mr. DeLong then asked me how Fanny [Buckley] fit in my family tree and I mentioned Foulkrod."   "Foulkrod!" he said, "We have Foulkrods who lived and worked here ... they lived in this house ... .  Violet Greenwood [Hamill] married Robert Foulkrod and his son, Robert just died."  The cemetery was once the old Sulley Farm.
