Our Quaker Training Center

The FoulkrodResearch Group has discovered evidence that various Foulkrod/Fulkrod households practised a variety of religious disciplines, among them Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, and Quaker.

While Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Baptist practices are generally understood, typically, little is known or understood about Quakerism. Yet more and more Quaker records are being discovered that are crucial to linking our Foulkrod/Fulkrod families together.

While Quakers are lauded for maintaining vital records in a period when such information was not recorded, our experience has shown that these records are cryptic and filled with abbreviations not readily apparent to the reader.

This page has been compiled to provide a "ground zero" for Quaker research.

Patterns of Religion

The chart below shows when various denominations first appeared in America, the period during which some of them divided, creating new churches and later, when mergers began to take place. As of 1968, a number of other churches were also undertaking or considering unification.
