John was called to America by Muhlenberg to serve Germans. He landed in Philadelphia with family from the ship "Rawley". He is descended from a long line of Lutheran Ministers and is credited as the 1st Lutheran minister west of the Susquehanna, founding over 100 Churches. He is referenced in many books by the American Lutheran Church and listed in D.A.R. records as being a contributor to the American Revolution. He probably has 200,000 descendants in America and his home still stands in Abbottstown PA.
