As can be seen from the above the information supplied
under FoI requests for the 1939 National Registration are at present supplied
in transcript form.
There is no indication whether the NHS still hold the
original registration cards or whether they have been destroyed.
There is also no indication whether the address 60
Holly Walk is the residence of all of the above or whether they were simply
present at the time of the registration.
From knowledge of the family I feel the transcripts are an accurate reflection
of the information supplied, but as with most family research each fact
discovered in turn leads to more unanswered questions.
There are also many questions arising from the format
of information given.
Such as.
Are there other residents at the address?
What basis is used to decide whether residents are
currently living or deceased?
Do the original schedules still exist?
Where are the schedules archived (if they still
exist)?
It is hoped answers to these and other questions will
be revealed in the course of time.
There are also omissions, which may be due to the way
I phrased my question.
Name of the householder or person who made the return
omitted.
Dates of birth omitted (day month and year column)
instead, age extrapolated.
Additional names given as initials rather than full
names.
It is hoped that a means to quickly digitise the
schedules (if they still exist) or the transcribed information may be found.
Such a scheme could provide badly needed funds to the
National Health Service.
It is hoped the answers to some of the above questions and omissions are revealed in the course of time.
