James was apparently born and raised in county Cork Ireland. He spent his early years at sea working on various ships before deciding to come the U.S. in the late 1840s. James resided somewhere in Massachusetts before coming to Minnesota in 1855.  It is not clear when or where James was married but it may have been prior to their arrival to Minnesota. His wife's name is listed as Nyland but shows up as Nyhen in early records and her birth date is listed as Jan 27, 1829. By 1857 James was married and was residing on a farm in Credit River.

PATRICK FARICY (1826-1895)  Son of Patrick Faricy and Elizabeth Wood
ELLEN ROACH (1830-1871) (Parents Unknown)

Patrick was the youngest of the three Faricy brothers that came to Minnesota. He was born in Ireland and came to the United States some time prior to about 1850. He came to Minnesota in the early 1852 and appears to have spent some time residing in the city of St. Paul before settling in Scott County near his brothers. It is not known when exactly he was married but there is likely that he was married some time after his arrival in Minnesota. His wife Ellen appears to be related to another Irish family that settled in the Credit River area.

Elizabeth (1864- ) Peter McQuillan (1888) (Moved to Ladysmith WI )
(Mary) Jane (1865-1952) John W. Haugh (1899) St. Peters Credit River MN
Johannah (1867-1873) St. Peters Credit River MN
Patrick (1871-1871) St. Peters Credit River MN

Ellen died in childbirth in 1871 leaving Patrick to raise the remaining children. In 1874, he was married to Nora Kennely in St. Paul. Nothing is known about Nora except that she was living in the city of St. Paul at the time of her marriage. It is thought that she was related to the Kenneally family from Eagan MN but there is only limited evidence to support this at this time.

PATRICK FARICY (1835-1895) (Parents Unknown)
HONORA KENNELY (1845-1892) (Possible dau. of Thomas Kenneally)

Patrick and Honora remained in Credit River where their children were born and raised.

Children

John Patrick (1876-1936) Mary G. Scherien ( ) St. Peters Credit River MN
William James (1881-1881)

Patrick's second wife died in 1892 and Patrick followed them in 1895. Patrick was buried next to both of his wives in a family plot at St. Peters Cemetery near Cleary Lake in Credit River. An obituary for John P list his wife as Grace White and also lists children, Margaret and Celia, of Prior Lake.

JAMES M. FARICY (1854-1892) Son of Robert Faricy & Margaret Dordan
MARY ANN O'REGAN (1857-1913 )

James was born somewhere in Massachusetts and came to Minnesota with his parents while still a young child. He was raised on the family farm in Credit River where he remained until some time in the early 1880s. He was married about 1880. She may have been related to one of the Regan families located near Credit River. Shortly after their marriage, James and Mary appear to have moved out of Scott Co. By the late 1880s they were located on a farm near the town of Birch Cooley in Renville Co. MN.

James died in 1892 and his body was brought back to Credit River for burial in the family plot. His wife remained in Birch Cooley and was married to John Golden in 1900. The 1900 census continued to list the children under the Faricy name but there is no trace of them after this time. It is possible that they ended up taking the name of their new step-father. No information is available regarding Mary after 1900.

ROBERT J. FARICY (1869-1918) Son of Robert Faricy & Margaret Dordan
NELLIE STEVENS (1867-1900) (Dau. Stephen Stevens)

Robert was born and raised in Credit River. He appears to have remained at home until the death of his father in 1897 at which time he took over the family farm. That same year he married Ellen. All that is known about her is that she was living with her family somewhere near Ceder Lake, MNat the time of her marriage.

Ellen died in 1900 and was buried in the cemetery by St. Catherine's church in Spring Lake Twp. MN. Two years after her death, Robert married his second wife.
