Plans are Progressing for Next Years Reunion!

Judy Fulbright reports that she has made preliminary plans for next years reunion, which will be held at Lake Junaluska in Haywood County, North Carolina. A number of long-time members will recall this locale as a lovely and relaxing place for a reunion. The lake is near Canton, North Carolina, near the site where John & Jacob Fulbright (sons of the immigrant Johann Wilhelm) lived in the early 1800s. Featured sites will be Morning Star Methodist Church (which Jacob once attended), the Locust Field Cemetery (where Jacob is purported to be buried and other Fulbrights are buried), Dutch Cove (once called Fulbright Cove) where the Fulbrights owned land, the Jacob Shook house, built by John & Jacob Fulbrights cousin Jacob Shook, and the church at Lake Junaluska built by Guy Fulbright. Tentative plans are to have a presentation on Shook genealogy at the banquet. Many more details will be available in the next newsletter!
