Lorene Fulbright Gurley, 86, of Willard, Missouri, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 3, 2001 following an extended illness. Lorene was born near Lebanon, Mo., on February 5, 1915, the daughter of Charley and Eva Barnett Fulbright. She had lived in and near Willard since 1940, was a homemaker, and had owned and operated the Willard Caf� for nine years. She was a member of the Willard Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church and was a charter member and past Matron of Willard Chapter # 5551, Order of Eastern Star. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd Gurley in 1978, a daughter, Betty Jean, and a brother and sisters-in-law, Dan and Reva Fulbright and Edith Fulbright. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Pat Blankenship of Springfield; a son, Jim Gurley, of Morioka, Japan; granddaughter and husband Becky and Jim Aton of Republic, Mo.; two grandsons, Mike Crane and Mark and his wife Cara Crane, both of Republic; two great-grandsons, Daryn and Dallas Clevenger; two step great-grandchildren, Jason and Mattia Coleman; and a brother, John Fulbright of Lebanon. Delbert Bishop passed away recently in Denver. I have not been able to get any more information on his passing than just that. I pass it on in the event that any of you may have a personal interest in Del and his family. He was enormous help in the early days of the Fulbright Family Association. He is one of the first people that Marion and I contacted when we decided that we needed a reunion. He and Wanda helped greatly in that first reunion at Doling Park in Springfield. John Ewing Fulbright, 83, of Lebanon, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002.. He was born May 11, 1918, in Laclede County, to Charles Fulbright and Eva Pauline Barnett Fulbright. On March 29, 1936, he married Edith Mizer, who died in 1999. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lorene Gurley; and one brother, Dan. Mr. Fulbright was a retired manager of the Ozark Trading Post, and was a member of the First Congregational Church. He is survived by his daughter, Laurel Ledbetter of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Robert Scott of Cassville; Donna Scott of Springfield; one great-granddaughter, Angela Ledenham and her husband, John of Exeter; and several nieces and nephews.
