Plans for 2002 Reunion in Lebanon

The next reunion of the Fulbright Family Association will be held June 28, 29, 30, in Laclede County, Missouri. A block of 40 rooms has been reserved at Hampton Inn in Lebanon, phone (417) 533-3100. Laclede County was settled early by the Fulbrights, and many family members can trace ancestry to the area. We hope all of you will be able to attend!

Friday, June 28, 2002, Informal gathering

The hospitality room will be open for visiting and research; pick up packets of information. Also people are free to research at the library, museum, or court house; visit sites of interest in the area.

Saturday, June 29, 2002, 9:00 AM

There will be a driving tour of Auglaize/Goodwin Hollow area where the Fulbright families and their in-laws setting in the early 1800s. This will include a stop at the historical house built by John Fulbright in 1840. We will leave the Hampton Inn at 9:00 AM, and go north on Highway 5 to Highway BB. We will then take Highway BB to Friendship Church and school, then to Goss/Beck crossing of the Glaize to the Fulbright Cemetery and Home. From there, we will take BB to Lark Road, to the Peter Goodwin settlement; back by Liberty Cemetery; then to Hooper Cemetery and Turner School. We will cross the creek again at Miller high water bridge and return to town.

Locations of cemeteries will be pointed out and people may visit them as they wish and have time. Hooper Cemetery is the oldest, most historic cemetery in the area; and snakes, ticks, and poison ivy are a problem this time of year. Some might be interested in going to Stoutland Cemetery, Goodwin Cemetery, Liberty Cemetery, or Fulbright Cemetery. We will return to Lebanon for lunch.

Business meeting: Will be held at 2:30 PM at the Mills Center in Lebanon. At 6:00 PM, the banquet will also be held at the Mills Center. The program at the banquet will be on John Fulbright, son of John and Elizabeth (Coulter) Fulbright. We will have a silent auction to raise money, so please bring any items you wish to donate to the association.
