From our President

Bill Eddleman

This newsletter is just a little late, thanks to more and more that I have to do this summer, and a busy spring. One sad duty I have to do is report the death of two of our valued members: Betty Fulbright (wife of Bobby, mother of FFA Vice-President Judy Fulbright, and sister of Frankie Herd), and Larry Roesch (husband of Martha Fulbright Roesch and father of Gail Royar and Gregory Roesch). We will miss these dear friends and relatives, but are happy for the good times we’ve had with them in the past. Full obituaries are included in this newsletter.

This is also my last message to you as President. Increased work duties absolutely prevent me from agreeing to serve one more term, and frankly, it’s time for someone else to do it. It’s been fun, and frustrating at the same time, but I look forward to continuing with the newsletter, and with enjoying interacting with the members as just a regular member of the FFA. I will also continuing doing research on the Fulbright family: I enjoy it too much not to. I welcome others to serve the FFA as officers the next two years.

I’m looking forward to the Reunion, in a locale with much Fulbright history. I hope to see many of you there, and I’d be glad to talk Fulbright history with you. You’ll learn a lot, get to visit with family, and see a very scenic part of our country. One crucial topic I’d like to discuss at our business meeting is how to attract younger members (especially young adults) into the FFA. I realize many younger folks are busy, but our dues are low and our requirements are easy to meet (any descendant of a Fulbright). Try and recruit one more family member, and we will welcome them!

Please don’t forget to send your family information--whether joyful or sad--and keep the rest of us informed. This is YOUR newsletter more than it is mine.
