2003 FFA Reunion-Last Minute Items

There is still time (but not much) to reserve a spot at the banquet for the 2003 reunion of the Fulbright Family Association, scheduled for June 27-29 at the Lambuth Inn at the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center, in Haywood Co., North Carolina. The rooms have been released, but you may still try to make reservations by calling 1-800-222-4930. The banquet will be a private buffet dinner on Saturday evening. The cost is $22.00 per adult, $10 for those age 6-11, and no charge for those age 5 and under. Reservations for the banquet are being taken by the FFA. Send checks payable to: “Fulbright Family Association” for the banquet to David Herd, Treasurer, FFA, 8708 E. 79th Terr., Raytown, MO 64138-1337.  We must have the reservations by June 20, 2003.

The banquet program will feature a presentation by Bill Eddleman based on research done by Shook genealogist Bob Jones. Entitled, Jacob Shook: The Man and His Legacy, the presentation will summarize what is known about Jacob Shook (and his cousins Jacob and John Fulbright) in the context of events in western North Carolina in the late 1700s and early 1800s.

The FFA Board will meet Friday evening, and the general meeting will be Saturday afternoon. Specific times will be available at registration. Please also remember to bring any family pictures, letters, genealogical charts, or other memorabilia for the Friday evening informal social. We also welcome items for door prizes at the banquet. For more information on the reunion, see the last newsletter.
