Our reunion is an effort by descendants of John William Fulbright (Johann Wilhelm Volprecht) and Andrew Fulbright (Andreas Volprecht) to get our large family together. The reunion time and location were chosen by over 250 Fulbright descendants at our June, 1991 reunion in Springfield, Missouri. At that meeting, the decision was made to seek a place for our next reunion that would enable us to do everything under one roof. We have found such a place. We look forward to a much larger reunion than the highly successful 1991 gathering. We hope you can come join us and celebrate the pleasure of being members of a remarkable family. We shall be sharing family history and genealogical information. We shall also have the chance to renew old friendships, make new friends, and make plans for family projects.

We have a block of 68 rooms reserved. There are 48 at the Quality Inn and 20 more at the Super 8 Motel which is next door. The rate is $47.00 per night, single or double. A couple may have their children to age 18 without additional charge. Two singles may also occupy a room at that cost. ALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY JUNE 11, 1993. After that, the rooms will no longer be held for our family. All reservations which are to be held until after 6:00 PM on June 25 must be make with credit cards. Your toll free reservation hot line for the Quality Inn North is 1- 800-955-1833.You may want to make your reservations early as there are several other events and conventions going on in Springfield that weekend. You may make your reservation by the toll free number above or by using the enclosed post card, if you phone you will need to give our reservation code number which is on the post card.

Only the Saturday evening dinner will require a reservation. This meal is the one which enables us to use the motel's meeting rooms free of charge. The cost of each ticket covers both your meal and the reunion registration cost. An adult ticket is $13.50. A child's ticket (under 12) is $10.50. You may make your reservation in advance by sending your check and enclosed form to the Fulbright Family Association, P.O. Box 3982 GS, Springfield, MO 65808-3982. The deadline for reservations is Friday, June 25, but we hope you will not wait that late to purchase your tickets as we will be making name tags and reunion packages from the meal reservations. Those living in or near Springfield also need to make your reservations early.

Friday 4 - 7 PM: Check in at reunion table. Last chance to purchase Saturday evening meal tickets! Pick up pre-purchased tickets and register for door prizes.

6 PM - whenever: Let's get acquainted. In Reunion Hall. This is our chance to mingle and visit. It was a wonderful time at our last reunion.

Saturday morning: Breakfast on your own. You may go alone or in groups to nearby restaurants or the Quality Inn restaurant.

12 o'clock noon: Pay as you go buffet lunch in Reunion Hall.

After we eat: Family history and genealogy program by:

Judy Fulbright-- on the George Fulbright Line of NC.
Bernard Schaper-- on the Jacob Fulbright Line.
Theresa Fulbright-- on the Andrew Fulbright Line. Andrew and Johann Wilhelm Volprecht were together in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Theresa will help us follow exciting material on this line.
David Fulbright-- on the John Fulbright Line. (John was the son of Johann Wilhelm) John left NC for TN & MO in 1815.

Following these presentations we will have a business meeting for the Fulbright Family Association. Among business which will need our attention is receiving and responding to reports on old and new business the election of officers for the family association, and making plans for our next reunion.

Sat. Afternoon: Family Photographs: There will be a photographer taking official reunion photos of which copies can be ordered.

Family Line Workshops. Each of the speakers will have an area in which he or she can present more detailed information about their line, answer questions, and visit with you.

Saturday 4 PM: Break: Relax, get ready for our evening meal.

Saturday 6 PM: SIT DOWN DINNER: In Reunion Hall. The program will be "North Carolina: A Fulbright Treasure Chest. Retrospect and Prospect". Judy Fulbright and David Fulbright will do this historical presentation with text and photos.

Sunday Morning: Pay as you Go buffet breakfast in hall. Newly elected officers of Fulbright Family Association will have a separate breakfast meeting to discuss our family business agenda.

Sunday 11 AM: Family Worship: You may join us for worship at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. William and Rutha Fulbright had the first church service in this area in their home in 1830 and later helped establish this church. Of course, you are free to worship wherever you wish.

Sunday 1 PM: A Special Tour of the Fulbright Exhibit at the History Museum of Springfield and Greene County located on the 3rd floor of City Hall. This is the official archive of the Fulbright Family Association

Please bring your family charts, pictures, artifacts, memorabilia, or other items that you would like to display and share. There will be a limited number of tables available for this.

The late Dorothy Schaper suggested something we are going to try this year - If you have a hobby like making craft items, wood work, painting, etc. and would like to bring a sample of your talent with us, please bring it. A lot of us express who we are in the things we make.

If you would like, you may donate a sample of your work for our silent auction to help raise funds for future projects and reunions.

Reunion T-Shirts are being made. They will be pale blue with Royal blue lettering. If you order now the cost is $10.00, at the reunion they will cost $12.00 each. To order yours now fill out enclosed form. If you want a special size, order it now, only L, XL, and XXL sizes will be available at reunion.

Many have asked for information on Silver Dollar City and Branson so we are including a map and some of the attractions and shows in that area. The dates, times and prices are from 1992.
