We are sending out a general mailing, because our family has received an exciting offer. The history Museum for Springfield-Green County In Springfield, Missouri is willing to name a special room in their museum, The Fulbright Family Archives. They are just starting a capital fund drive, and that name carries a price. We have to have 15,000 dollars in pledges by August 16, 1993. the pledges can be paid over a three year period.

The only thing to be done now is to make a pledge. No one needs to send a gift now. In fact, it is not a good idea to send your gift, until we know if we have the necessary pledges to carry out the program. If we do get the necessary pledges, we will notify all donors by mail. Should you send money and we happen not to receive the necessary pledges, your gifts cannot be returned.

The proposal was accepted by the General Board of the Fulbright Family Association at our June 26, 1993 meeting. The board members present contributed pledges for 3,900 dollars. About a dozen people were present. Family members who were at the reunion dinner on Saturday evening are mailing their pledges in, and we are asking you, the family memoers who read this magazine, to send in your pledges. Please, remember the pledges you send may be paid over 36 months. A statement by the museum, a pledge form, and an envelope have been provided.

The museum is already the archives for family records, memorabilia, and artifacts. The museum will continue to play this role for us, regardless of our fund raising success. Our materials are restored, protected, and made available by museum staff members. Family members from all over the United States have sent materials to the museum.

If you have questions about the proposal please contact your regional representatives or any board member . Their names, addresses, and telephone numbers are in the directory in this edition of the newsletter.
