IN MEMORIAM

I apologize for going to press with inadequate information of the late James Achtley of Lebanon, Missouri. I did not have an obituary or his genealogical information. Mary Hope Petty helped us correct this. DLF

Mary Hope Petty writes.......

James F. Atchley's mother was Monta Fulbright, the dear sister of my mother, Mary Hope Fulbright Crow, and both were daughters of Ephriam Ruthvan Fulbright (note lineage listed below)* who was a great pioneer and successful farmer whose home was near Sleeper, Missouri, and was mine and James' grandfather. James and his grandfather were very close, and each of their farms were only a few miles apart during their lifetime. Even though we lived only a few miles apart during their lifetime, I remember the wonderful visits we had at my grandparents "story book" farm and the interesting stories told to us there.

Lineage:

1. Johan Wilhelm Volprecht (1717-1808) m. Christina Halstead 2. John Fulbright (1775-1825) m. Elizabeth Coulter 3. William Neely Halstead Fulbright (1785-1843) m. Ruthy Hollingsworth 4. Levi Coulter Fulbright (1811-1897) m. Nancy Emily Hillhouse 5. Ephriam Ruthvan Fulbright (1850-1939) m. Parthenia Frances Oliver Children: Guy, Floy, Monta, John William, and Mary Hope.

Note also from the Fulbright lineage listed, the John William was also the son of Ephriam Ruthvan Fulbright whose original manuscript, "The Fulbrights," which is the major material used by Ed Stout for his copy, compiled and edited with his "corrections," is the book now named, Fulbright Family Miscellany -- 1991.

I hope to be with all of you for the reunion in June and am anxious to view the Museum and the Fulbright archives Room. I am amazed the goal was actually met so quickly. My hat is off to all of you. Thank you all.

Gratefully,
Mary Hope Petty
