Misc. Cemetery Information of the Fulbrights and Mayfields.

1-- John E. Mayfield: b. 11 May 1879, d. 15 June 1899.

Found in the Kendree Cemetery, located on the William Creek Road to Cape Girardeau, Mo. (Note: Taken from "A Belated Census of Earliest Settlers of Cape Girardeau County, MO." compiled by the Rev. William J. Gammon.

Note: The Mayfield Cemetery is located on the late Perry Mayfield farm, 1 mile from Daisy Road. The following three headstones are found there.

2-- Mary E. Mayfield: b. 2 Feb. 1864, d. 9 Mar. 1932.

3-- Perry W. Mayfield: b. 15 May 1844, d. 5 Feb. 1924.

4-- Vesta Bernesa Mayfield: b. 6 Jan. 1888, d. 3 May 1906.

Note: The Concord Cemetery is located approximately one half mile east of Oak Ridge, Mo. and approximately two miles west of the Fulbright Cemetery. The following two headstones, of a mother and son, are there.

5-- Barbara Fulbright: wife of John, b. 1782, d. 26 Dec. 1879.

6-- John Fulbright: d. 5 Oct. 1894, age abt. 75 yrs., "Father. Erected by Perry County in memory of John Fulbright" [Close friends said he was a strong believer in witches. Lived in Perry County the last years of his life.] Note: The inscription on John's marker is in " "; a note from the book is in [ ].

Note: The Estes Cemetery is in the vicinity of Pocahontas, east of Oak Ridge, Mo. on the Jesse Estes farm, off highway 61, to the right. The following four head stones are found there.

7-- Aaron Fulbright: d. 5 May 1874, age 70 yrs., 4 mo, 20 days.

8-- Infant Fulbright: son of W. & M.J., b. Aug. 1868, d. Sept. 1868.

9-- Catherine Fulbright: wife of Aaron, b. 14 Feb. 1809, d. 8 Aug. 1882.

10-- Wm. Fulbright: b. 17 Oct. 1839, d. 26 Mar. 1877.

Note: The Gladish Cemetery is located off to the left from U.S. 61 1/2 mile, 5 miles northwest of Jackson, Mo. The book, "A Belated Census of Earliest Settlers of Cape Girardeau county, MO." compiled by the Rev. William J. Gammon lists:

11) Margaret Fulbright Link (no dates) AND John Link (1816) buried in Gladish Cemetery: on farm of late Wash Gladish (now Troy Gladish), off to left from U.S. 61 1/2 mile, 5 miles northwest of Jackson.

Note: The two headstones listed below were found in the Altenburg, Missouri area.

12-- Kotella Maud: dau. of J.F. & C.E. Fulbright, d. 10 May 18(78?)  aged 2 yrs. 26 days. Buried in a tiny cemetery northeast of Altenburg, Mo. All German names in this old cemetery, located just of the high way, near a little white house.

13-- Charles E. Fulbright: 1848-1884. "Father let thy grace be given that we might meet in Heaven" -no marker close to his. Located in an all German ceme tery, the Altenburg Cemetery in Altenburg, Mo., near the Trinity Lutheran Church which was established in 1848.

Note: Both of the following found in a book titled, "Missouri Obituaries 1880, 1881, 1882."

1-- Mayfield, p. 65: Sarah Elizabeth Mayfield, dau. of William R. & Amanda Mayfield, b. in Laclede Co, Mo. 12 May 1855. Leaves husband & 3 little girls. By J.M. Weems, her pastor. (5 July 1882- ).

2-- Fulbright, p.35: John Lawson Fulbright: b. near Caledonia, Mo., 11 Oct. 1882, & d. at home in Springfield, Mo. 31 Oct. 1882. By C.H. Briggs.(22 Nov. 1882- )
