Our Presidents Report

As has become customary, David Fulbright again interviewed Fulbright Family Association President Gerald Fulbright for this edition.

Gerald said, "I think the biggest thing that needs to be emphasized is that we need everyone to support and attend the North Carolina Reunion. If you have an area you believe that you can help with, please, call Judy Fulbright. She has assumed a large responsibility in preparing things for us locally. She may be able to use your help. I also want to remind everyone to rejoin the association if your membership has expired. If you haven’t mailed your renewal in, you can do it in North Carolina. We need to remind each other of the need to keep association memberships current.

"I am looking forward to seeing everyone. I do hope we have good participation from every state with Fulbright family members resident."

Fulbright Appointed to the Arkansas State Plant Board

Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas has recognized Gerald Fulbright in a special way. Gerald has been named to the Arkansas State Plant Board. It is a policy making body that is concerned with farm products and the marketing of farm products. Its areas of concern are very wide in agriculture and agricultural marketing. Feed and fertilizer and a bureau of standards (weights and measures) are two examples of the board’s areas of concern. We congratulate Gerald on his appointment, he will serve until March 17, 1999.

Fulbright, is an administrator for ConAgra Frozen Foods at Batesville and a former Independence County Sheriff, and is active in that community in many ways.

Gerald is better known, and appreciated even more, as the President of the Fulbright Family Association, a loosely knit organization devoted to the betterment of the various Fulbright clans.
