ARTHUR C. FULBRIGHT, TH.D.

GREENWOOD, ARKANSAS

Dr. Fulbright is a notable and involved member of the Fulbright Family Association. He was a featured speaker at one of our past reunion banquets. His resume is presented below for the knowledge of the FFA members

The Reverend Dr. Arthur C. Fulbright was born March 5, 1923, MaIden, Missouri, son of the Reverend Dr. William A. Fulbright, Sr. and Elizabeth Skidmore Fulbright.

Dr. Fulbright is now retired after 47 years of service to the United Methodist Church in the Missouri East and West Conferences. He has held many prestigious appointments and commissions.

He holds degrees from McKendree Methodist College and Graduate School, Lebanon, Illinois and the Greenville Free Methodist College And Theological School, Greenville, Illinois, Belin University, St. Louis, Missouri.

He married the former Geraldine Bell of Silva, Missouri, and they have three daughters: Marilyn Elizabeth (Mrs. James L.) Clements; Pamela Ruth Killough; and LaRhonda Lynn Hardy. October 11, 1997, Dr. and Mrs. Fulbright celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

Dr. Fulbright has been the recipient of many honors, awards and commissions. A few of these are: The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge Honor Certificate Award; The George Washington Honor Medal Award; Honored on the floor of the United States Congress for Meritorious Service; Sermons printed in the Congressional Record; Lobbyist for the United Methodist Church, State of Missouri; Commissioned as an "Approved Evangelist of the United Methodist Church" Missouri West Conference; Consultant for Psychiatric Social Services for Nursing Homes; Guest Professor, University of Missouri, Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Associate Professor of Philosophy and Psychology, Belin University, St. Louis, Missouri; and, Honored by St. Paul School of Theology, Kansas City, Missouri for Meritorious Service. Many articles have been published by Dr. Fulbright in periodicals and newspapers.

Dr. Fulbright is a consultant for the J. L. Clements Construction Company, Greenwood, Arkansas. He also does "Supply Ministry" when called upon by the District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church, Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Dr. Fulbright has also received the following honors and recognitions:

Honored by the Branson, Missouri Free and Accepted Masons for Outstanding Service.

Honored by "Woodmen of the World" in appreciation of commendable service.

Honored for 50 years of membership and service to Freemasonry by Greenwood, Arkansas A.F. and A.M., Lodge No.131.

Citizenship Citation by the Optimist Club, Columbia, Missouri for rendering outstanding service to his community.

Recipient of "The Arkansas Traveler" Award for distinguished accomplishments. Presented by the Governor, Secretary of State, and area State Representative.

Dr. Fulbright is a veteran of World War II. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Greenwood (Ar) Lodge No.131, Free and Accepted Masons; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry; The Greenwood (Ar) Chamber of Commerce; The International Association of Lion's Club; American Association of Retired Persons; Member of the Board of Directors, the National Fulbright Family Association; The Board of Trustees, The Methodist Hospital, St. Joseph, Missouri, 1966-68; The State of Missouri "Commission on Human Rights,"

1965-66; Member of Farmers Bank, Greenwood, AR Community Advisory Council; Member of the Scouting Fraternity - Mic-O-Say; and active in the programs of the Phillips Cancer Support House of Fort Smith, Arkansas. In all of his endeavors, Dr. Arthur C. Fulbright ministers "the word of God" with loving authoritarianism. He emphasizes the "Grace of God" with sincere compassion and understanding.
