Special Events, Points of Interest

by Karen McClaran

Two notable birthdays have been brought to our attention that we wish to recognize, as well as a recognition of achievement. On November 15th Lovell Fulbright of Goodlettsville, Tennessee was honored at his 90th birthday by family and new and old friends alike. Additionally, Roy J. Fulbright of Batesville, AR celebrated his 100th birthday on the 4th of November. We wish both of these Fulbrights a very happy birthday!

Congratulations are in order for Dr. Bill Eddleman and the Cape Girardeau County Genealogical Society for their recent Grant Award from the Broderbund Software Company. They were awarded a sizable grant to copy death records from local churches and create an electronic index to local cemeteries. As most of you may know, Bill has worked very hard on the cemetery project. It will be a valuable asset not only to the people of Cape Gir-ardeau, but also to those of us whose Fulbright ancestors called that area home. It is a well deserved honor for which Bill is to be congratulated.

On a personal note, Karen and Lourie (Rod) McClaran wish to extend their warmest appreciation for the prayers and cards. Rod is back at work now and doing very well. He will not have to undergo any further plastic surgeries. Please continue to remember him as his health and strength continues to return. Thank you again for the love and support.

David Herd has changed his place of employment. He is working at Rosse Litho in Kansas City, Missouri.
