Wilson Powell writes a column on history and genealogy in the Batesville (AR)

Daily Guard. This week he wrote that Robert Griffith was involved in an interesting project that involve several counties and careful sorting. A great-grandfather William Griffith married Nancy Stuart in 1836 and lived briefly in Independence County. The great-grandparents came from Illinois through Missouri and into Arkansas. Family lore has him buried at Havana in Yell County. Robert wrote, "I hope to stop in Batesville on my way to a Fulbright reunion in June."
