        9.  Mansfield Baugh³ JORDAN (Jesse², Henry¹) was born May 12, 1838 in Southampton Co, VA, and died December 16, 1914.  He married Cora PHILLIPS June 30, 1869 in Surry Co, VA, daughter of Richard PHILLIPS and Mariah L..  She was born March 03, 1848 in Henrico Co, VA, and died June 10, 1943 in Montreal, Canada.

Enlisted Surry Co. VA Courthouse on 20 April 1861 in Co. "G", 13th VA Cavalry and remained there until 19 Oct 1864.

 as a lumber getter and single man, living with Tom BAILEY, 36 yrs old Black

 

Moved to Canada about 1869 to W. Quebec? Lived in L'Orignal for 40 years. Worked in the Lumber Industry for "Hon. J.K. Ward" and the "Riordan Pulp Co. "

Retired in 1907.

 

On 3 Sep 1894 bought property in L'Orignal from John Jacob Marston et. al for $350.00 King St.

On 1 Oct 1896 bought the "Cass" Property for $1535.00

1871 Listed a "MB Jordan, Agent", in Lovells "Province of Quebec Directory", 1871, page 1125

 

Will:  dated 16 Dec 1914 List property at Windigo Lake, Twp of Amherst Co, of Labelle, Quebec also held a mortage on property at Fournier in Plantagenent twp, Edmond Molloy, mortages.
