Benjamin Long Jr. and Lillie Adlin Parrish

Benjamin Long and Lillie Parrish raised a family of twelve children in Johnston Co., North Carolina on a farm.  Benjamin was a farmer but also worked in the Hatcher saw mill.  He died of melanoma from a mole on his face.  Lillie his wife was a strict prohibitionist and would not let her husband drink on his death bed to ease the pain.  However, his son Marvin would sneak him a few sips every visit.  According to Shelby Jean Long Corley "Grandma (Lillie) Long killed a black man with a hoe after he cut Grandpa (Benjamin) all the way across the middle.
