Benjamin Long Jr. and Lillie Adlin Parrish
Benjamin Long and Lillie Parrish raised a family of twelve children in Johnston Co., North Carolina on a farm. Benjamin was a farmer but also worked in the Hatcher saw mill. He died of melanoma from a mole on his face. Lillie his wife was a strict prohibitionist and would not let her husband drink on his death bed to ease the pain. However, his son Marvin would sneak him a few sips every visit. According to Shelby Jean Long Corley "Grandma (Lillie) Long killed a black man with a hoe after he cut Grandpa (Benjamin) all the way across the middle.
