My oldest known Karl ancestors were Frank Karl and his wife Mary.  I don't know much about them, other than that they were living in Kohlheim, Bavaria when their son Frank Jr. was born about 1815.  The name of the town in Bavaria was spelled differently in different records that I received from the diocese of Pittsburgh, from the church records of St. Philomena Church, located in the Strip District of Pittsburgh, Pa.:  Kohlheim, Kelheim, Kellheim.  I have not yet been able to determine exactly where in Bavaria this town is located, so if anyone has any information, please contact me using the link above.
