SEVENTH GRADE, CARLTON,
1936
History
of Seventh Grade
In
1929 Bobby Beadles, Frances Byrd, John M. Salyer, Pansy Bolton, Doris
Huffman, Dora Mae Smith, and Gail Baird started out together in the
first grade. Others started also, but dropped out, or started other
places.
In
1930 this class entered the second grade with the exception of Pansy
Bolton who attended school at
San Angelo
. Hartman Hoover, Smith Carter, Travis King, Glynna McAnally, and
Thornton Vaughan entered this group that year also.
In
1931 with the exception of third grade, Pansy Bolton came back and James
Fine joined us.
In
1932 this class entered the fourth grade. Here we only had one to join
us and that was Billy Sowell.
In
1933 this same group entered the fifth grade. Here E. J. Ray, Walter
Chick, Damon King, Lee McDonald, M. C. Cook, Emma Cook, and Vonceil
Wright entered.
In
1934 this class went through the sixth grade with Jean Leign and Johnnie
Locke joining.
In
1935 the class was made larger by J. D. Stockmam, W. R. Wright, Lucille
Cox, Curtis Smith.
We
hope this group stays together throughout the rest of their school days.
