BECK BRANCH begins near the intersection of HWY 22 and FM 1602 which crosses Beck Branch as it progresses past Pleasant Valley (about twelve miles east of Hamilton) to the Leon River north of Evergreen.

"Beck Branch heads on the W. H. Connolly ranch owned by Mr. Myers, goes by Pleasant Valley school, empties into the Leon. A man being hung on this branch gave it its name."--Doris LaRue Stapleton and Capt. C. E. Horton.
