ARLINGTON-Mary Sue Bennett, 48, an enforcement officer of
the State of Texas Comptroller's Office, died Dec. 10 at her home after
a battle with cancer.
Services were Thursday, Dec. 12, at Moore Funeral Home
South in Arlington. Burial was Monday, Dec. 16, at Woodside Cemetery in
Middletown, Ohio, with visitation at the Breittenbach-McCoy-Leffler
Funeral Home there on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Mrs. Bennett was born Aug. 26, 1948, in Middletown. After
graduation from high school she served two years and reached the rank of
corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. While in the Marines, she met and
married her husband. They remained in California until 1970 when they
moved to Texas. She made her home in Arlington in 1971 with her husband
and children and lived there until her death.
She graduated from Tarrant County Junior College in 1976
with an associates degree in applied science. She was a member of Phi
Theta Kappa honor Society. She had worked for the State Comptroller's
Office since 1980.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ed Kroger, a
sister, Patricia Charles, and a brother, John Kroger.
Survivors include her husband, Robert J. (Bob) Bennett;
two sons, Robert Edward Bennett and Michael James Bennett; her mother,
Ruby Kroger; sisters Betty Bowman, Victoria Burton and Donna Enright;
brothers, Barry Ball, Donnie Kroger, Mark Kroger, Paul Kroger, James
Kroger and Peter Kroger, Daniel Kroger, and Victor Kroger; and numerous
other relatives, co-workers and friends.
