BUCK SPRINGS SCHOOL was west of Jonesboro near Pleasant Valley. L. A. Morris taught the first school at Buck Springs about 1879-1880. Buck Springs had seven grades in 1911. A new frame school was built in 1917. Miss Eda Seago and Miss Mattie Hampton taught at Buck Springs in 1924-25 while W. A. McLendon, T. A. Walker, and J. H. Hicks were on the school board. Teachers in 1936 were Miss Alma Phillips and Victor J. Segrist.
