JACK CECIL BUSTER

The Hamilton Herald-News
August 29, 2002

Jack Cecil Buster 59, died Aug. 23, 2002. Funeral services were held Aug. 27
at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Gatesville with Rev. Willie Clark
officiating. Burial followed in Turnersville Cemetery.

Mr. Buster was born on November 1, 1942, the son of Cecil Clyde Buster and
Edith Louise Kays in Ater, Texas. He lived most of his life in and around
the Gatesville area.

Mr. Buster served his country in the Navy from 1959 - 1963. He was the
leader of a fire rescue unit and he was also a diplomatic courier. When he
returned home from the Navy, he went into farming and ranching, which he
loved.
He was married to Linda Suzann Stouwie on January 26, 1970.

Answering God's calling, he became an Ordained Minister and the pastor of a
church in Austin, where he had a ministry to the homeless bringing them to
church, providing food and clothing and teaching them the word of God. He
also had a prison ministry at the Murray Unit in Gatesville.

Mr. Buster enjoyed the simple things in life. To know him was to know he had
a heart bigger than the sky. He put the well being of others before himself.
His most valued possession was his family especially his grandchildren, whom
he spoiled rotten. His family extended to countless others who lovingly
referred to him as Chief, Pops, Old Man and Dad. He opened his door to total
strangers and gave his last dime to someone in need, knowing that he would
have to make sacrifices himself.

Survivors include his two son Bobby and wife Karlene of Jonesboro and Zack
of Hamilton; a daughter Janna and husband Carlos Hernandez; nine
grandchildren, Courtney Mathew, Gerritt, Lance, Faith, Carlos, Charlene,
Gabriel and Michael; his mother, Edith Buster; sisters, Frances Wilameny,
Christine Grizzle of Hamilton and Sandi Frost and husband Bill of Arlington;
brothers Jim Buster and wife Lisa of Hamilton and Willie Buster and wife
Shirley of Waxahachie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Teddy.

Pallbearers were Bobby Buster, Zack Buster, Carlos Hernandez, Jason Buster,
Mike McGaha, Jeremiah Ramson, Damon Thompson and Jerry Thompson.
