COLONEL POTTS

Captain Potts ran for sheriff at one time but was beaten. ( For him the town of Pottsville in west part of the county was named and brother to "Squire," Potts who was J. P. there for years. Mr. Williams thought that he ran against George Gentry. At least that bunch. (My uncle Tom Roddy said he sort of thought his father stood in with the Gentry faction.)
