Murl Dalton, 81, died July 22, 2002. Funeral services were held July 26 at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church in San Antonio. Burial was at Mission Burial Park North.
He was born Nov. 5, 1920 in Lamkin, the son of Elder Len and Mollie Dalton.
He volunteered for the Navy immediately after Pearl Harbor and served for more than four years. Mr. Dalton then worked in San Antonio for Southern Music, C. Bruno and Sons, Inc. for 42 years.
He was married to Claudia Hudspeth on Aug. 7, 1949. She preceded him in death after almost 53 years together.
Mr. Dalton was a faithful husband, father and spiritual leader. From an early age he was devoted to the Primitive Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for many years. He loved the Lord his God with all his heart, soul, mind and strength and loved his neighbor as himself.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Dalton; a daughter, Carol Brown and husband Eric; sons, Larry Dalton and wife Julie, Kenneth Dalton and wife Sandy; sisters, Warrene Koen and Mollie Dalton; a brother, Joe Dalton and wife Wanda; sisters-in-law, Velma Dalton and Nancy Dalton; grandchildren, Elisabeth, Michael, Emily, Sarah, Stephen, Joshua, David, Caleb, Josiah, John, Daniel and Jeremiah Dalton, Rebecca Kathryn, Caroline, Julia and John Eric Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brent J. Daniel, 72 of Comanche died Jan. 28, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services were held Jan. 29 at graveside in Toliver Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Calcote officiating. He was born Jan. 26, 1933 in Hamilton, the son of William Harvey Daniel and Dorothy Doris (Priddy) Daniel. He was reared in the Gustine and Lamkin area and retired as Comanche County Commissioner of Precinct 3. He was a veteran, having served in the Army in the Korean War and he was a Methodist.
Mr. Daniel was married to Neta Sue Hayes on Dec. 18, 1953 in Comanche County. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda and husband Ken Milburn of Lamkin; a son, David and wife Dana Daniel of Lamkin; granddaughters, Crystal and husband Carl Landes of Stephenville, Cheyenne and husband Lee Adcock of Stephenville and Deidre Daniel of Lamkin; grandsons, Jerrod and wife Kayla Hicks of Gustine and Calvin Milburn, of Lamkin; great-grandchildren, Carissa Landers of Stephenville, Grady Hicks of Gustine,; a brother Gary and wife Lana Daniel of Kyle; a sister Nelda Lee of Anson; a friend, Jane Evans of Temple; sisters-in-law, Betty Hayes of Gustine and Edgilee Parker of Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neta Sue Daniel on Oct. 17, 1988.

Doris Daniel died Sept. 27, 2004 in the Anson General Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. at Hall and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with Rev. Matt Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Toliver Cemetery in Lamkin.
Mrs. Daniel was born Sept. 27, 1910 in Dickenson County, the daughter of Samuel Harris Priddy and May Glave Priddy.
She was married to William Harvey Daniel on Dec. 2, 1928. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1982. Mrs. Daniel was a homemaker and had been a resident of Anson since 1987, moving there from Gustine. She was a member of the Gustine Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Nelda Lee of Anson; two sons, Brent Daniel of Lamkin and Gary Daniel and wife Lana of Kyle; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Nadine Daniel, 88, of Comanche died March 18, 2005 in the Comanche Consolidated Hospital. Funeral services were held March 20 in the Hall and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Toliver Cemetery in Lamkin.
She was born July 20, 1916 in Comanche, the daughter of Ed Guthrie and Clara McNeal Guthrie. She was married to Huland Arnold Daniel on Sept. 12, 1936. He preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1988.
Mrs. Daniel was a seamstress and retired from the Comanche Sewing Plant.
She was a member of the House of Prayer in Comanche.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Daniel on June 30, 1000; two sisters, Marie Wallace and Geraldene Carrouth Carter and a brother, Elbert Guthrie.
Survivors include a son, Joe Daniel and Tami of Comanche; a granddaughter, Jodi Gaines and Doug of Comanche; two grandsons, Jeff Strube and Kyle Strube of Comanche, two sisters-in-law, Margie Daniel of Comanche and Wanda Schwartz and Paul of Priddy.

" He became a member of the Church of Christ in May of 1898, at Tonkawa, Texas where he was baptized by Robert James. He loved truth and honesty and lived as he believed before his family and neighbors.
He joined the Masonic Order in 1910 and completed the Royal Arch degree at the Rockhouse Lodge of Hamilton, Texas, Hamilton County.
He moved with his family to New Mexico in 1921. He left for Miami, Arizona, October 6, 1924 to get work. He was stricken with pneumonia near Globe, Arizona, Gila County, where he was working. He was taken to the Gila hospital on December 13, 1924 and passed away on December 16, 1924.
The remains were brought to Cedervale, New Mexico and laid to rest on December 21, 1924.
Funeral services were held in his home, nine miles west of Cedervale, by W. K. Twyeffort. Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Roads, Mr. and Mrs. O. V. Wright and baby [Byron] came from Lowell, Arizona to attend the funeral.
Besides his wife and daughters, he leaves a father, mother, two brothers and two sisters besides a host of friends to mourn his death. ---By a daughter.[Belle Dansbee Bryan)

Joe W. Davis, 81, of Gatesville died June 4 at his residence. Funeral services were held June 7 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Pearl Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 4, 1923 in Pearl, the son of Alvis Davis and Ruth DeLoach Davis. He served his country during World War II. After being discharged, he bought his farm in Pottsville where he raised cows and goats.
He worked for 20 years in Dallas at Love Field managing a catering service for the airlines. He later returned to his place in Pottsville where he lived until three years ago. Due to health problems, he sold out and moved to Gatesville.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Glenda Hallmark and a brother, Rev. Wayman Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Davis; sisters, Irene Schroeder of Perry, Lavetta Davis of Gatesville, Laverne Necessary and husband Dwaine; brothers, Ervin Davis of Gatesville, Erwin Davis and wife Ruth of Austin; children, Dorothy Miller and husband Mike of Irving, Joe Jr. and wife Loretta of Mesquite; stepsons, Greg Fritsche and wife Antonia, Timothy Fritsche of Houston; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Larry Schroeder, Jimmy Williamson, Clifton Smith, Eddy Davis, Stanley Davis and David Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Dwaine Necessary, Albert Rut and Leman Wagner.

Rosa Bess Barlow Davis, 86, died Friday, Aug. 14, in Hamilton.
Services were Monday, Aug. 17, at Waco Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. Marvin Donnell officiating, assisted by Dr. Bob Gentry.
Mrs. Davis was born July 20, 1912, in Laredo, the daughter of Bessie Gass and James Riley Barlow. She moved to Waco as a child and attended Pecan Grove School, which later became LaVega School. She graduated from Waco High School in 1930. She was married to Edwin D. Davis on April 7, 1933. She attended 4-C Business College in Waco and was a bookkeeper. She served as deputy tax assessor/collector for LaVega ISD for a number of years before retiring in 1972.
She was a Baptist and an active member of Bellmead First Baptist Church, of which she was a charter member. She taught Sunday School classes and was a soloist in the choir. She was also a charter member of Bellmead Chapter #980 Order of the Eastern Star, as well as the first Mother Advisor for Rainbow Girls Assembly #243.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Colleen Haak, in 1975, and by her husband in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Dave Davis of Lafayette, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Virginia) Hutto of Jonesboro and Eleanor Ruth Davis of Dallas; a brother, Riley M. Barlow of Marfa; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lee Haak, John Haak, Greg Hutto, Jim Williamson, Ben Davis, Dave Stanfield and Dr. Trey Boehm. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the Bellmead First Baptist Church.

Stan Davis, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 4 in Brady.
Services were held Friday, Aug. 6 at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial was
at Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born June 21, 1920, the son of Ray and Edna (Lapinsky)
Davis. He was married to Margaret Nelson June 4, 1943 in Abilene.
He was a Veteran of World War II where he served as Army cook. He was a
salesman and a Methodist.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Peek of Brady and Cindy Wolfert
of Wisconsin; three sons, Brad Davis of Hamilton, Bruce Davis and Billie
Davis, both of Brady; a sister, Mary Whal of Wisconsin, seven
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
Esta Belle Dyches was born August 09,1908, &
died October 23,1974. She was married to Walter Julius Dearson who was born
November 20, 1903, & died in November, 1982. They had 2 children -- James Alton
and Barbara Jean. James Alton was born January 24,1928, & died in
January,
1981. The family lived in the Hamilton area, possibly Priddy, until my dad's
early teens, then moved to Fort Worth ( River Oaks). Both of my grandparents
worked at Convair & later after it became General Dynamics.
Walter Julius Dearson was a son of George Dearson &
grandson of Gerhardt Dearson. The surname originally was spelled
Diersen.
Gerhardt's wife was Minnie Feldman. I think they came from Germany in
1871. I believe George & some of his other siblings were born in
Germany. I was told that at one time my grandfather was a constable,
probably in Priddy. The family also had a farm outside Gustine,
possibly in Comanche County.

Dorothy Geraldine Dedeker, 87, died Sept. 13, 2004 in Hamilton. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 16, in Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo, Texas with Rev. Roy Dittfurth officiating.
Mrs. Dedeker was born August 8, 1917 in Tom Green County, the daughter of George and Lily Griffins Emert.
She was married to Edgar B. Dedeker on April 16, 1935. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1990.
Mrs. Dedeker was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Gary Don Dedeker and one brother, G.B. Emert.
Survivors include two children, Bobby Gene Dedeker of San Angelo and Joann McCleskey of Indian Gap; six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Lyndal Emert of San Angelo.

Homer Addison Dillingham, 88, died Dec. 5, 2003 at Hillside Manor Care
Center in Gatesville. Funeral services were held Dec. 9, in the Evant
Funeral Chapel in Evant with Rev. James Marrs officiating. Burial
followed in Hillsdale Cemetery at Izora.
Mr. Dillingham was born August 23, 1913 at Izora, Texas to the late
Addison and Cora Carroll Dillingham.
He was a veteran serving in the Army during World War II. He retired
from Kraft Food in 1977 after 20 years of service.
On Nov. 9, 1965 he was married to Ora Elizabeth Wilks. He and Ora have
made their home in Evant since 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Elizabeth Dillingham of Evant; a
daughter, Ann Maxine Dillingham of Indianapolis, Ind., step-daughter Ora
Jeanice Marshall of Evant; four grandchildren; a cousin J. Lee

Willie Dean Leona Huse Dittrich 85, died on March 25, 2005. Funeral services were held March 28 in the First Baptist Church in Hamilton with Rev. Keith Felton officiating. Burial followed in Boggy Cemetery near Cranfills Gap.
Mrs. Dittrich was born March 25, 1920 in Cranfills Gap, the daughter of John L. and Malinda Pederson Huse.
She was married to Ovie Dittrich at Cranfills Gap on Nov. 19, 1938 She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a farmer’s wife, a wonderful cook and helpmate to her husband and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamilton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her husband of Jonesboro; three children, Richard Dittrich of Grapevine, Barbara Henderson of Meridian and Ovie Dittrich Jr. of Crossville, TN, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one sister Jenny Huse of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Lee Roy Dollar, 80, a retired electrician, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at an Arlington hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 23 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington. Burial was in Moore Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dollar was born Oct. 28, 1922 in Tarrant County and was a lifelong Arlington area resident. He was raised south of Arlington in the
Webb-Brittan Area of Tarrant County.
He retired from General Dynamics in 1975 after 27 years of employment. Mr. Dollar was active in farming and ranching in Tarrant and Hamilton County.
He was married to Ruth Gibbons Dollar on Aug. 23, 1947. He was a member of Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington and the Mansfield Masonic Lodge #331 for 56 years. He was also a member of the Moslah Temple and Scottish Rite of Fort Worth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Izora and his brothers, Ralph and Raymond.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dollar of Arlington; a son, Robert Dollar and wife Mary of Arlington and a grandson, David Dollar of Arlington.

Erwin Dale Douglas, 90, of Dallas died Dec. 11 in a Dallas hospital.
He was born Dec. 10, 1913 in Hamilton, the son of Eli and Nettie
Douglas.
He was a graduate of Howard Payne with a B.S. degree and NTSU with a
Masters of Education. He taught summer courses in school
administration at Texas A&M University. His pubic school experience
began in Hamilton County and he served as superintendent in Runnells
County before moving to Dallas in 1944.
He was superintendent of Pleasant Grove Independent School District,
which merged in 1957 with the Dallas Independent School District. In
addition to serving as principal at Woodrow Wilson High School, he
served as Assistant Superintendent for Business and then Deputy
Superintendent for DISD. He was first president of the Mountain View
Campus of the Dallas County Junior College District. He retired in
1977 after serving as Assistant Superintendent for Business of the
Richardson ISD. In addition to being an active member of numerous
civic organizations, he was a very active Mason. He was the first
Grand Master of the Bruton Conner Lodge #1322 which he helped
organize in 1944. He was a 33 Degree Mason and served as a District
Deputy Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of Texas. He also served as
School Board President of the Masonic Home and School in Fort Worth.
Mr. Douglas was an active member of numerous professional
organizations. Among his many accomplishments was being elected in
1971 as president of the International Association of School Business
Officials.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, LaJoyce Macon Douglas of
Dallas; son, Ronald Douglas and wife Linda of Round Rock; daughter,
Dr. Sue Douglas of Arlington; sister, Aline Raibourn and husband
Charnie of Hamilton; brother, Dr. Eli Douglas and wife Joan of
High-land Village; two grandchildren, Scott Douglas of Richardson and
Amy Boyce and husband David of Georgetown; three
great-granddaughters, Taylor, Emily and Macon; numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and their spouses, N. L. and
Juanita Douglas and Dr. O. R. and Pauline Douglas.
Memorial services were held Dec. 13 at Pleasant Grove First Baptist
Church with Rev. Steve Swofford and Dr. Causey E. Gram, III
officiating. Private Masonic Graveside Services were held at Grove
Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite
Hospital for Children of Dallas, Pleasant Grove First Baptist Church,
American Heart Association or a charity of one's choice.

Funeral services were set for Wednesday, Dec. 22 in the Abbey Chapel of
Resthaven with Rev. John Ballard and Ken Horn officiating. Burial was at
Resthaven Memorial Park.
She was born Feb. 13, 1920 in Pottsville. She was married to Dr. Omer
Ray Douglas on Aug. 14, 1940 in Comanche. She was a member of First
Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons Bruce Douglas of Orlando, FL and Dr.
Randal Douglas of North Richland Hills; two daughters, Phyllis Thurber
of Colorado Springs, CO and Donna Franks of Lubbock; a sister, Mary Nell

Dr. A. C. Drake, 78 of 3102 21st St., a retired dentist who has
lived in Lubbock since 1942, died at 9:20 A. M. Saturday at his home
after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Resthaven Memorial Park, Dr. C.
E. Hereford, Dr. J. Ralph Grant, The Rev. David Ray and the Rev. J. T.
Bolding all will officiate. Burial will be under direction of Resthaven-Singleton-Wilson
Funeral Home.
Dr. Drake was a 1918 graduate of State Dental College in Dallas. He
practiced 24 years in Galveston, before moving to Lubbock. He retired in
1948
Survivors include his wife Eloise; four brothers and five
sisters.
Pallbearers will be Robert Smith, John Glen, Carl Drake, Ronald
Dennis, Art Tollett and Ralph Bell.

Cedric Putnam Drake, 80, died Friday, July 24, at his home in
Albuquerque, N.M.
Services were to be held in Albuquerque.
Mr. Drake was born May 18, 1918, in Hamilton, the son of
Clarence
P. and Daisy Bloodworth Drake. He was a Baptist and had lived all over
the world. While in the service, he was awarded the Oak Cluster Leaves
for performing acts of heroism several times in the Southwest Pacific.
He was a bomber navigator. He was also awarded the Distinguished Flying
Cross and the medal for meritorious achievement.
He was married to Dorothy Shinn, who preceded him in death in
1977. Four of his five children also preceded him in death in a tragic
plane crash at a family reunion Aug. 20, 1983, in Tucumcari, N.M. They
were Susie Donna, Richard, Leo and Cedric Jr. He
was also preceded in death by a sister, Arleigh Jo Drake, and a brother,
Ralph Bloodworth Drake.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Boyd Drake of Albuquerque,
a son, Tom Drake of Germany; three sisters, Barbara Dean Simnacher of
Olton, Annie Nell Bell of Hart and Claryce Richardson of Portales, N.M.;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many cousins in the
Hamilton area.

Services Today For Crash Victims
Services for four members of the Drake family killed in a plane crash
near Conchas Lake airport Saturday night will be held at 10:30 AM today
at the First Baptist Church.
Killed in the crash were Cedric P. Drake, Jr., 39 pilot of the
plane; his sister Dona S. "Susie" Drake, 20 a student
at Hardin-Simmons University; his brother, Richard P. Drake 23, of
Albuquerque; and another brother, Air Force Capt. Leo M. Drake, 37
of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Survivors include their father, Cedric P. Drake of Los Lunas, and a
brother, Thomas E. Drake of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Cedric Drake, and Albuquerque resident for 37 years is also survived
by his wife, Roberta and two daughters, Charlene and Rhonda Drake, both
of Albuquerque.
Surviving Leo Drake, a member of College Park Baptist Church in Las
Vegas are his wife, Linda, a daughter, Lynn Drake; and a son, Scott M.
Drake, all of Las Vegas.
Richard Drake was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and a member of
the First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park with French Mortuary in charge
of arrangements.

1977. Scott Drake died in January 1996 in Las Vegas

Mrs. Daisy Drake, a resident of Portales for 31 years died Monday
morning at Roosevelt General Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
She was 74 years old and was born March 18, 1895 in Hamilton Co.
Texas. Mrs. Drake is survived by her husband Clarence P. Drake, two
sons, Ralph B. Drake of Portales and Cedric P. Drake of Saudi Arabia and
three daughters, Mrs. Claryce Crockett of Lovington, Mrs. Ann Bell of
Hart, Texas and Mrs. Barbara Tollett of of Olton, Texas; 16
grandchildren and one great grandchild. There are also three sisters,
Mrs. Ella Landers of Marana, Arizona, Mrs. Sellie McCauley of Fort Worth
and Mrs. Mamie Drake of Hamilton. Two brothers, Mark Bloodworth of
Hamilton and Max Bloodworth of Silver City, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 4:00 PM at the First Baptist
Church with the pastor, Rev. Bob Stalcup, officiating. Burial will be in
Portales Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary.
The pallbearers will be Mrs. Drake's grandsons. Honorary pallbearers
will be member of the family's Sunday School classes. The Ambassadors
and the King's Workers.

Vernon Carroll Dyer Sr., 85, died March 9, 2003 at his home in Covington, La. Funeral services are pending.
Mr. Dyer was born January 24, 1918 in Bastrop County, the son of Will Dyer and Ethel Irene Davis Dyer.
He went into the Military at the age of 18 in Austin, Texas. He joined the Army and was sent to Dodd Field where he was assigned to the 5th Calvary. There he served in Troop E from 1936 - 1939 at Fort Clark, Texas. From there he went into the Air Force.
Mr. Dyer was a First Lt by the age 21 and served in the World War II European Theatre Campaign. He flew an A20 Douglas Bomber in the Air Force and was shot down over England losing the sight in his right eye. He received the Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Medal and many other medals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Rodney Carroll Dyer, three brothers, William Dyer, Leroy Dyer and Jimmy Dyer, two wives, Vesta Owen Dyer and Gloria Tkach Dyer.
Survivors include his wife Doris of Covington, La, his daughter Ethel Mae Dyer Townsend and husband Roy of Star, a son, Vernon Carroll Dyer Jr. "Buddy" and his wife Paula of Des Moines, Iowa, six grandchildren, Connie Townsend Mayhew and husband Clint Mayhew, Donna Townsend Henry and husband Bryan Henry, Gary Dean Townsend, Lisa Andrea Dyer, Josh Dyer and Adam Dyer; seven great- grandchildren, Jason Henry and wife Tandy, Macayla Henry, Clay Mayhew, Curtis Mayhew, Cortney Mayhew and Cullen Mayhew and two great-great-grandaughters, Amber Henry and Madison Henry; a brother, Donald Edward Dyer of Pflugerville and a step-sister, Mickey Malone Owen.
DREYER, MATILDA (SEILHEIMER)

Matilda Seilheimer Dreyer, 89, died Aug. 16, 2004 in McGregor Nursing Home. Burial was at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Coryell City.
She was born July 10, 1915 in Hamilton, the daughter of Paul Seilheimer and Matilda Pape Seilheimer. She was received in Christ's Church through Holy Baptism and confirmed her faith through the Rite of Confirmation in Shive.
Mrs. Dreyer graduated from Hamilton High School in 1934 and attended Business College in Dallas for two years. She later worked at the State School for Boys for 12 years and for Wal-Mart for 15 years before retiring in 1998. She liked to watch all types of sports.
She was married to Alvin Dreyer on Jan. 16, 1938 in Shive. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1989.
Survivors include her son, Larry Dreyer of Euless; a sister, Freida Jensen of California; grandchildren, Steven Dreyer and wife Kathy of Lewisville, Kim Dreyer and husband David Smith of Jakarta, Indonesia and great-grandchildren, Shayla Smith and Elias Smith.
Pallbearers were Clarence Lucas, Richard Jeske, Edwin Seilheimer, Al Sharp, Gary Gohlke, Charles Niemann, Johnny Stegomoller and Manuel Widner.
Honorary pallbearers were Herman Kopp and Kenneth Sharp.
